Abstract
Semakin meningkatnya permintaan shipper dan consignee akan peti kemas menyebabkan tingkat penumpukan peti kemas ( YOR ) mencapai 85 %, sehingga terjadi kelangkaan lahan untuk tempat penumpukan peti kemas sementara atau depo peti kemas. Solusi untuk membuka lahan baru depo peti kemas juga terkendala oleh semakin sedikitnya lahan dari segi biaya dan operasional menguntungkan yang tersedia, alternatif solusi lain adalah dengan membuat desain konseptual depo terapung peti kemas yang tidak memerlukan lahan darat. Setelah dilakukan analisis dan perhitungan ternyata pembangunan depo terapung peti kemas secara kelayakan investasi dinilai telah layak untuk dibangun, sedangkan untuk penggunaan depo terapung peti kemas meningkatkan TRT kapal menjadi 14 % dibandingkan dengan menggunakan depo darat yang ada saat ini.

Increasing demand of containers by shipper and consignee causes YOR ( Yard Occupancy Ratio ) level reached 85 %, so the lack of container yard happened. The solution to open new container yard have burdened by rare amount of container yard availability. The other alternative solution is making conceptual design of floating container yard which didn’t need land. After analysis and calculation, in the reality development of floating container yard by feasibility of investment have assessed deserve to build up, while the operational usage of floating container yard increasing TRT’s ship become 14 %, than usage existing container yard at this time.
