Abstract

In this digital era, there is an increase in the need and demand for cloud computing procurement. It is estimated that the global market size regarding cloud computing alone will reach 947.3 billion US Dollars by 2026. Currently, the cloud computing market share is dominated by large companies such as Amazon Web Service, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. Openstack technology opens up opportunities for the Department of Information Technology ITS in creating a private cloud. The Openstack implementation uses a multinode deployment method developed by Kolla Ansible to be implemented in the computer architecture of the Smart City and Cyber Security laboratory, ITS Information Technology. The results of the Openstack implementation were tested using the Phoronix Test Suite, Ethr, and Rally-Openstack tools to get the relationship of instance computing performance with the number of instances running and the performance of Openstack services in creating instances and changing flavors. The results show that CPU performance on each instance will decrease with an average decrease of 0.68 GFLOPS or 1.41% as the number of instances increases. Memory performance on each instance will decrease with an average decrease of 0.37 GBps or 4.46%. For bandwidth performance on the local network and Speedtest service, it will decrease hyperbolically. The connection establishment speed performance has a correlation with the number of instances, but no concrete conclusions can be drawn due to the instability of the test. Instance network latency does not appear to have a correlation with the number of instances. The duration of instance creation is not too affected by the number of concurrent requests with an increase in duration of only 0.3 seconds. The flavor change duration is also affected by the number of concurrent requests, where the flavor change duration can reach 2 times (at 4 concurrent requests) of one concurrent request but experiences instability at 5 or more concurrent requests. KYPO Cyber Range Platform was successfully implemented and successfully ran a training demo by allocating 1 sandbox pool to run the training using Openstack resources of 10 vCPUs and 14.3 GB of memory.
