Abstract
Setiap tahun, PT Indolakto Pandaan memiliki program kerja untuk menurunkan penggunaan energi listrik sebesar 3% pada lini produksi. Salah satu plant yang terdapat pada lini produksi tersebut adalah mesin Cooling Tower. Cooling Tower digunakan pada proses pendinginan air sebelum proses produksi. Saat ini mesin Cooling Tower memiliki kebutuhan energi listrik terbesar karena proses pengoperasian motor fan dari Cooling Tower yang dilakukan secara terus-menerus tanpa memperhatikan temperature dan ketinggian air. Hal ini menjadi peluang dilakukannya pengembangan metode pengopersian motor fan agar konsumsi energi listrik dapat diturunkan guna mendukung target kerja saat ini. Proses pengoperasian motor fan harus menggunakan metode yang efektif serta memperhatikan kondisi temperature dan ketinggian air agar konsumsi energi listrik dapat dikurangi. Proyek akhir ini membangun sistem kontrol kecepatan motor fan menggunakan fuzzy logic untuk penghematan energi pada Cooling Tower. Metode fuzzy logic yang digunakan berdasarkan pada temperature dan ketinggian air pada kolam Cooling Tower. Pada persamaan energi dimana energi sebanding dengan massa air, kalor jenis, perubahan temperature. Massa air didapatkan dari persamaan massa jenis dimana masa jenis air sebanding dengan massa air dan berbanding terbalik dengan volume air. Bertambahnya volume air, dapat meningkatkan massa air. Sehingga kebutuhan energi yang dibutuhkan akan bertambah apabila perubahan temperature dan massa air juga bertambah. Berdasarkan pengujian yang telah dilakukan, sistem yang telah diimplementasikan pada proyek akhir ini dapat menghemat kebutuhan energi listrik sebesar 12,56% dimana kebutuhan sebelumnya sebesar 400—490 kWh dapat diturunkan menjadi 350—390 kWh dalam periode 20 hari pengujian

Every year, PT Indolakto Pandaan has a work program to reduce the use of electrical energy by 3% in the production line. One of the plants in the production line is the Cooling Tower machine. Cooling Tower is used in the process of cooling water before the production process. Currently, the Cooling Tower machine has the largest need for electrical energy because the fan motor operation process from the Cooling Tower is carried out continuously without regard to temperature and water level. This is an opportunity to develop a fan motor operation method so that electrical energy consumption can be reduced to support current work targets. The process of operating the fan motor must use an effective method and pay attention to the conditions of temperature and water level so that electrical energy consumption can be reduced. This final project builds a fan motor speed control system using fuzzy logic for energy saving in the Cooling Tower. The fuzzy logic method used is based on the temperature and water level in the Cooling Tower pool. In the energy equation where energy is proportional to the mass of water, specific heat, change in temperature. The mass of water is obtained from the density equation where the density of water is proportional to the mass of water and inversely proportional to the volume of water. Increasing the volume of water, can increase the mass of water. So that the energy requirements needed will increase if the temperature changes and the mass of water also increases. Based on the tests that have been carried out, the system that has been implemented in this final project can save electricity energy needs by 12.56% where the previous requirement of 400-490 kWh can be reduced to 350-390 kWh in a 20 day testing period.
