Abstract
Gasifikasi termasuk ke dalam salah satu teknologi yang dapat memanfaatkan potensi sekam padi sebagai bahan bakar. Gasifikasi merupakan proses konversi bahan bakar padat menjadi gas sintesis melalui reaksi kimia. Proses gasifikasi memiliki 4 tahapan antara lain: pengeringan, devolatilisasi, reduksi, dan oksidasi dimana proses ini terjadi dalam suatu reaktor. Penggunaan Sekam padi di pilih karena ketersediaannya melimpah dan dapat meningkatkan nilai guna dari sekam padi yang belum di manfaatkan secara maksimal sebagai bahan bakar. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan kompor downdraf gasifier dengan memvariasikan kapasitas biomassa dan suplai udara untuk mencari nilai produksi heat rate dan nilai efisiensi termal. Dengan menggunakan metode kalori meter sederhada mengamati perubahan temperatur air dari hasil pembakaran gasifikasi. Bedasarkan hasil eksperimen didapatkan hasil nilai heat rate tertinggi sebesar 1,432 kWh dan nilai efisiensi termal tertinggi sebesar 94% pada saat menggunakan variasi operasi gasfier dengan kapasitasn 6,25Kg dengan suplai udara 15 m/s.

Gasification is one of the technologies that can utilize the potential of rice husks as fuel. Gasification is the process of converting solid fuel into synthesis gas through a chemical reaction. The gasification process has 4 stages including: drying, devolatilization, reduction, and oxidation where this process occurs in a reactor. The use of rice husks was chosen because of its abundant availability and can increase the use value of rice husks that have not been utilized optimally as fuel. In this study using a downdraft gasifier stove by varying the biomass capacity and air supply to find the value of heat rate production and the value of thermal efficiency. By using a simple calorie meter method, observing changes in water temperature from the gasification combustion results. Based on the experimental results, the highest heat rate value is 1.432 kWh and the highest thermal efficiency value is 94% when using a gasifier operating variation with a capacity of 6.25 Kg with air supply 15 m/s.
