Abstract
Pada penelitian ini, telah dilakukan pembuatan adsorben kulit pisang (Musa paradisiaca) teraktivasi NaOH untuk penurunan kadar kromium (VI) dalam larutan berair. Aktivasi kulit pisang dengan NaOH dilakukan pada suhu 105°C, perlakuan ini bertujuan untuk melarutkan pengotor pada permukaan kulit pisang agar dapat menyerap kromium (VI) dengan optimal. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah adsorpsi batch dengan parameter variasi konsentrasi NaOH sebagai aktivator, variasi pH dan variasi waktu kontak. Filtrat hasil adsorpsi diukur dengan Spektrofotometer Serapan Atom (SSA) pada panjang gelombang maksimum 357,9 nm. Persen pengurangan kadar kromium (VI) tertinggi sebesar 87,30% pada konsentrasi NaOH untuk aktivasi kulit pisang adalah 3%, pH 2 dan waktu kontak 120 menit.Nilai kadar air pada adsorben kulit pisang teraktivasi NaOH 3% sebesar 2,05%.===================================================================================================================================
In this study, adsorbent of banana (Musa paradisiaca) peels actived by NaOH has been made for removal chromium (VI) ion in aqueous solution. Activation of banana peels with NaOH was carried out at temperature of 105°C, this treatment aims to dissolve impurities on the surface of the banana peel so that it can absorb chromium (VI) optimally. The method used in this experiment was batch adsorption method with parameters of variation of NaOH concentration as adsorbent activator, variation of pH of adsorbate and variation of contact time. Filtrate from the adsorption was measured using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer with maximum wavelength of 357.9 nm. The highest percentage removal in chromium (VI) ion was 87.30% at the concentration of NaOH for banana peel activation was 3%, pH 2 and contact time in 120 minutes. The percentage of moisture content in the adsorbent of banana peel activated by 3% NaOH is 2.05%
