Abstract

This study of Mn2+ ion interference in the determination of Fe(II) phenanthromline using sodium oxalate and hydroxylamin hydrochloride reductors has been successfully carried out. The optimum analysis performance was optimized using a sprectofotometer UV-Vis. The Fe(II) phenanthroline complex has a maximum wavelength at 511 nm for both reductors. The measurement of the calibration curve on the sodium oxalate reductor has a coefficient of determination value (r2) of 0.9989. The hydroxylamine hydrochloride reductor calibration curve has a value of the coefficient of determination of 0.9957. Mn2+ ions can interfere with Fe(II) phenanthroline analysis by lowering iron absorption. In sodium oxalate reductors, Mn2+ begins to interfere when the concentration of Mn2+ 0.4 ppm with %recovery of 93.45%, while in hydroxylamine hydrochloride reductors Mn2+ begins to interfere at a concentration of 2 ppm with %recovery of 94.89%.
