Abstract
Boehmite atau alumunium oxyhydroxide adalah komponen dari bijih alumunium bauksit yang umumnya berwarna putih. Boehmite dengan kemurnian tinggi diatas 99% banyak diperlukan terutama untuk banyak aplikasi seperti separasi baterai Li-ion. Hal ini mengakibatkan adanya prediksi bahwa pada tahun 2021 sampai 2026 pasar Boehmite akan meningkat sekitar 13,3% di pasar global. Boehmite banyak dibutuhkan kedepannya namun di Indonesia masih belum ada pabrik yang memproduksi boehmite. Bahan baku utama pembuatan boehmite adalah Alumina Trihidrat. Di Indonesia sendiri produsen satu-satunya Alumina Trihidrat adalah PT. Indonesia Chemical Alumina (PT. ICA) dengan kapasitas produksi 166.000 ton/tahun. Meninjau dari data konsumsi yang lebih tinggi dari data produksi boehmite, ketersediaan bahan baku, dan didukung dengan UU No. 3 Tahun 2020 tentang Pertambangan Mineral dan Batubara, akan dilakukan pengembangan PT. ICA dengan mendirikan pabrik boehmite dengan bahan baku alumina trihidrat. Pabrik boehmite yang didirikan menggunakan proses hidrotermal dengan pertimbangan pelaksanaan proses dan kebutuhan bahan baku yang lebih sedikit apabila dibandingkan dengan proses presipitasi. Proses hidrotermal dilakukan dengan mencampurkan air dengan alumina trihidrat pada suhu 200 ˚C dan tekanan 1,5 MPa. Rencana pendirian pabrik ini akan dilakukan selama 3 tahun dengan umur pabrik selama 25 tahun, dengan kapasitas 19.436 ton/tahun. Untuk memproduksi 19.436 ton/tahun, diperlukan operating expenditures (OPEX) ton/tahun, diperlukan operating expenditures (OPEX) sebesar Rp583,266,682,125.8 dengan capital expenditures (CAPEX) sebesar Rp 167,680,468,909. Sumber dana investasi berasal dari modal sendiri sebesar 40% dan modal pinjaman 60%. Berdasarkan analisa ekonomi, Internal Rate of Return (IRR) pabrik ini sebesar 29.89% dengan bunga sebesar 7,95% per tahun dan laju inflasi 1,75%. Sedangkan untuk Pay Out Time (POT) selama 10 tahun. Dan Net Present Value (NPV) sebesar Rp 107,297,895,605.9. Dengan melihat aspek penilaian analisis ekonomi tersebut, maka dapat dikatakan Pabrik Boehmite dari Alumina Trihidrat Proses Bayer ini layak untuk didirikan.

Boehmite or aluminum oxyhydroxide is a component of aluminum bauxite ore which is generally white in color. Boehmite with high purity above 99% is needed especially for many applications such as Li-ion battery separation. This results in a prediction that in 2021 to 2026 the Boehmite market will increase by around 13.3% in the global market. Boehmite is needed a lot in the future but in Indonesia there is still no factory that produces boehmite. The main raw material for making boehmite is Alumina Trihydrate. In Indonesia, the only producer of Alumina Trihydrate is PT. Indonesia Chemical Alumina (PT. ICA) with a production capacity of 166,000 tons/year. Judging from the higher consumption data from boehmite production data, the availability of raw materials, and supported by Law no. 3 of 2020 concerning Mineral and Coal Mining, the development of PT. ICA by establishing a boehmite factory with alumina trihydrate as raw material. The boehmite plant that was established uses a hydrothermal process with consideration of the implementation of the process and the need for less raw materials when compared to the precipitation process. The hydrothermal process is carried out by mixing water with alumina trihydrate at a temperature of 200 C and a pressure of 1.5 MPa. The plan to establish this factory will be carried out for 3 years with a factory life of 25 years, with a capacity of 19,436 tons/year. To produce 19,436 tons/year, required operating expenditures (OPEX) tons/year, required operating expenditures (OPEX) of Rp.583,266,682,125.8 with capital expenditures (CAPEX) of Rp. 167,680,468,909. Sources of investment funds come from own capital of 40% and 60% of loan capital. Based on economic analysis, the factory's Internal Rate of Return (IRR) is 29.89% with an interest rate of 7.95% per year and an inflation rate of 1.75%. As for the Pay Out Time (POT) for 10 years. By looking at the assessment aspect of the economic analysis, it can be said that the Boehmite Plant from the Bayer Process Alumina Trihydrate is feasible to establish.
