Abstract

Human capital atau dalam bahasa Indonesia disebut dengan modal manusia terdiri dari pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kemampuan orang-orang yang dipekerjakan dalam suatu organisasi, instansi, ataupun perusahaan. Hal itu memainkan peran penting dalam membantu organisasi meningkatkan produktivitas dan kebahagiaan secara keseluruhan dari pegawai yang ada. Di era digital ini mayoritas instansi telah memanfaatkan teknologi informasi untuk meningkatkan produktivitas, efektivitas, dan efisiensi dari sistem tersebut. Tidak terkecuali Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya, yang juga telah memiliki sistem manajemen dosen dan tenaga kependidikan yang bernama Sistem Informasi Manajemen Kepegawaian (SIMPEG) ITS. Seiring berjalannya waktu, keorganisasian ITS semakin berkembang ke arah yang kompleks dengan banyaknya data dan informasi pegawai yang ada. SIMPEG ITS menjadi kurang relevan karena informasi yang disajikan berlebihan, sehingga berdampak pada tampilan antarmuka pengguna yang sulit dipahami oleh penggunanya. Oleh karena itu, untuk menambah produktivitas pegawai (dosen dan tenaga kependidikan ITS), serta meningkatkan efektivitas dan efisiensi sistem kepegawaian yang telah ada, penulis ingin mengembangkan antarmuka pengguna web myITS HumanCapital Modul Portofolio dan Modul Qinerja. User-Centered Design (UCD) menjadi metode pilihan penulis dalam pengembangan antarmuka pengguna dari aplikasi web myITS HumanCapital Modul Portofolio dan Modul Qinerja. Metode UCD merupakan metode dengan pendekatan untuk memecahkan masalah yang berfokus pada pemahaman dan kebutuhan pengguna. Hasil dari Tugas Akhir ini diharap mampu menghasilkan tampilan antarmuka pengguna yang mudah dipahami oleh pengguna, sehingga intensi dari pengembangan aplikasi dapat terpenuhi serta dapat meningkatkan produktivitas pegawai ITS.

Human capital consists of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of people employed in an organization, agency, or company. It plays an important role in helping organizations increase the productivity and overall happiness of their existing employees. In this digital era, the majority of agencies have utilized information technology to increase the productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of the system. The Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) Surabaya is no exception, which also has a management system for lecturers and education staff called the Sistem Informasi Manajemen Kepegawaian (SIMPEG). As time goes by, the ITS organization is growing in a complex direction with a large amount of data and employee information available. SIMPEG ITS becomes less relevant because the information presented is excessive so the user interface is difficult for users to understand. Therefore, to increase employee productivity, in this case ITS lecturers and education staff, as well as increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the existing staffing system, the author wants to develop the myITS HumanCapital web application Portfolio Module and Qinerja Module. The Portfolio module will later contain employee personal data, history of employee activities while working at ITS, and also employee work. As for the Qinerja Module, performance achievements and employee assessments will be made. User-Centered Design (UCD) is the author's method of choice in developing the user interface of the myITS HumanCapital web application, Portfolio Module, and Qinerja Module. The UCD method is a method with an approach to solving problems that focuses on understanding and user needs. The results of this Final Project are expected to be able to a user interface that is easy to understand by users, so that the intentions of application development can be fulfilled and can increase the productivity of ITS employees.
