Abstract

In general, economic disparities or inequality in income distribution occur because of the high disparity between high-income and low-income groups and the high level of poverty or the number of people below the poverty line. The Gini Ratio is one of the benchmarks for measuring income inequality in Indonesia. The gini ratio value range from 0 to 1. A Gini ratio of 0 indicates perfect income distribution, or everyone has the same income. Meanwhile, a Gini Ratio of 1 indicates perfect inequality, or one person has everything while other people have nothing. In 2020, the Gini Ratio in Indonesia in September was 0.385. This figure has increased by 0.005 when compared to the Gini Ratio in Indonesia in September 2019. The increase in the Gini Ratio is influenced by several factors, namely production factors and social and population factors. This study will model the Gini Ratio in Indonesia in 2020 using spline truncated nonparametric regression because the relationship between the response variable, namely the Gini ratio, and the five predictor variables, namely the growth rate of GRDP per capita, TPT, LFPR, percentage of poor people and HDI are not patterned and there are changes in patterns. relationships in certain sub-intervals. The most optimal model based on the GCV value is to use a combination of knot points (2,2,3,2,3). The five predictor variables used have a significant effect on the Gini ratio and produce a coefficient of determination of 90,14%.
