Abstract
Sistem pengereman merupakan salah satu komponen keselamatan utama pada Kereta Rel Listrik (KRL) yang harus berfungsi secara optimal untuk menjamin keamanan dan keandalan operasi kereta. Oleh karena itu, setiap produk KRL KCI yang diproduksi PT INKA (Persero) wajib menjalani proses quality inspection melalui pengujian fungsi statis (brake static test) untuk memastikan seluruh komponen sistem pengereman memenuhi spesifikasi teknis dan standar kualitas sebelum memasuki tahapan produksi berikutnya maupun diserahkan kepada pelanggan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Divisi Teknologi Unit Quality Engineering PT INKA (Persero) dengan menggunakan metode observasi lapangan, studi literatur, serta pengambilan data secara langsung selama proses inspeksi. Pengujian mengacu pada Specification of System Requirements dan Inspection Sheet perusahaan yang meliputi dua tahapan utama, yaitu One Step Brake Test dan Parking Brake Operation Test. Pemeriksaan dilakukan terhadap parameter tekanan udara, kinerja Brake Control Unit (BCU), Tread Brake Unit (TBU), Brake Cylinder, Air Spring, serta komponen pendukung lainnya untuk memastikan seluruh sistem bekerja sesuai standar yang telah ditetapkan.Hasil inspeksi menunjukkan bahwa seluruh parameter pengujian memenuhi spesifikasi teknis yang dipersyaratkan sehingga sistem pengereman pada produk KRL KCI dapat dinyatakan berfungsi dengan baik dan layak melanjutkan ke tahapan produksi berikutnya. Penerapan prosedur inspeksi yang sistematis mampu menjaga konsistensi mutu produk, mendeteksi potensi ketidaksesuaian sejak dini, serta mendukung peningkatan aspek keselamatan, keandalan, dan kualitas produk kereta api. Pelaksanaan tugas ini juga memberikan pemahaman mengenai implementasi sistem manajemen mutu, penerapan standar inspeksi, serta proses pengendalian kualitas pada industri manufaktur perkeretaapian.

The braking system is one of the key safety components on Electric Commuter Trains (KRL) that must function optimally to ensure the safety and reliability of train operations. Therefore, every KCI KRL product manufactured by PT INKA (Persero) must undergo a quality inspection process through static brake testing to ensure that all braking system components meet technical specifications and quality standards before proceeding to the next production stage or being delivered to the customer. This activity is carried out at the Technology Division’s Quality Engineering Unit of PT INKA (Persero) using field observations, literature reviews, and direct data collection during the inspection process. The testing is based on the company’s Specification of System Requirements and Inspection Sheet, which covers two main stages: the One-Step Brake Test and the Parking Brake Operation Test. Inspections were conducted on air pressure parameters, the performance of the Brake Control Unit (BCU), Tread Brake Unit (TBU), brake cylinder, air spring, and other supporting components to ensure that the entire system operates in accordance with established standards. The inspection results showed that all test parameters met the required technical specifications, so the braking system on KCI’s KRL products can be deemed to be functioning properly and ready to proceed to the next stage of production. The implementation of systematic inspection procedures helps maintain consistent product quality, detect potential nonconformities early on, and support improvements in the safety, reliability, and quality of railway products. Carrying out this task also provides insight into the implementation of quality management systems, the application of inspection standards, and quality control processes in the railway manufacturing industry.
