Abstract
Meningkatnya kebutuhan energi menyebabkan meningkatnya pencemaran lingkungan karena mayoritas energi yang dipergunakan berbasis energi fosil. Pencemaran lingkungan harus dikendalikan untuk kelestarian bumi dan umat manusia. Dalam Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) yang dicanangkan oleh PBB, terdapat satu program terkait pengembangan energi bersih yang ramah lingkungan. Dalam rangka mendukung Pemerintah Indonesia mencapai target SDGs no 7 pada tahun 2030, perlu dilakukan pengembangan energi alternatif yang ramah lingkungan. Penelitian ini berusaha melakukan pemilihan teknologi pembangkit listrik energi gelombang laut (ombak) untuk penerapan di Pulau Nias. Data potensi gelombang didapat dari peneliti sebelumnya. Perhitungan kebutuhan biaya investasi dan pendapatan tahunan dilakukan. Metode pemilihan pertama menggunakan kriteria ekonomi yaitu Net present Value (NPV), Payback periode (PP), dan Internal Rate of Return (IRR). Metode pemilihan berikutnya dengan menambahkan faktor lingkungan yaitu daya PLTD yang dapat digantikan. Berdasarkan pertimbangan kelayakan ekonomi didapatkan bahwa Teknologi AWS memiliki nilai tertinggi dari kriteria IRR dan waktu tercepat dari sisi Payback Periode. Berdasarkan pertimbangan ekonomi dan besarnya daya PLTD yang dapat digantikan, Teknologi WaveDragon terpilih karena memiliki nilai NPV terbesar dan daya ektraksi gelombang terbesar sebagai potensi pengganti PLTD. Dibagian akhir disajikan faktor-faktor yang perlu dipertimbangkan untuk kesuksesan komersialisasi pembangkit listrik energi gelombang laut. Misal untuk penerapan pembangkit listrik energi gelombang laut di Pulau Nias harus juga memperhatikan potensi gempa dan tsunami yang dapat menimbulkan total loss dari Investasi.

Pollution must be controlled for the preservation of the earth and people. In the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) launched by the United Nations, there is a program related to the development of clean energy that is environmentally friendly. In order to support the Government of Indonesia in achieving the target of SDGs No. 7 by 2030, it is necessary to develop environmentally friendly alternative energy. This study attempts to select the technology for ocean wave energy power generation for application on Nias Island. Wave potential data obtained from previous researchers. Calculation of the need for investment costs and annual income is carried out. The first selection method uses economic criteria, namely Net Present Value (NPV), Payback Period (PP), and Internal Rate of Return (IRR). The next selection method by adding environmental factors is the power of PLTD that can be replaced. Based on the consideration of economic feasibility, it was found that AWS Technology has the highest value from the IRR criteria and the fastest time in terms of the Payback Period. Based on economic considerations and the magnitude of the power of PLTD that can be replaced, WaveDragon Technology was chosen because it has the largest NPV value and the largest wave extraction power as a potential replacement for PLTD. In the last section, the factors that need to be considered for the successful commercialization of ocean wave energy power plants are presented. For example, for the implementation of a sea wave energy power plant on Nias Island, the potential for earthquakes and tsunamis must also be considered, which can cause a total loss of investment.
