Abstract
============================================================================================================================== This Project investigates inelastic behaviours and structure performance level of existing 31st story building in Surabaya with Non-Linear Time History Analysis (NLTHA). The consideration of this evaluation is caused by some changes on updated seismic design standard that refers to SNI 1726-2019 (ASCE-7-16). Those changes made predicted inelastic responses of the strcuture exceed beyond the allowable limit. Evaluation and verification are going to be analyzed with Non-Linear Time History Analysis. By this method, actual inelastic responses can be discovered and verification of the structure performance can be concluded. Non-Linear Time History Analysis informs actual elastic- inelastic condition limit of the structure that caused by modificated time-history loads which are not reduced by reduction factor of inelastic behaviour (R). Therefore, there will be a plastification because the structure response exceeds elastic yield limit. Time-history ground motion selection considers some criteria of seismic characteristics in Surabaya. Modification of several selected ground motions are conducted to approach similar load value of targeted spectrum response which represents designed seismic load of 500th years period earhquake. The procedures that are going to be used is amplitude scaling and spectral matching method. Linear spectrum response analysis is conducted to investigate predicted inelastic response and evaluate element capacity. Verification with Non-Linear Time History Analysis is conducted to investigate the collapse stage based on plastification of beam, column and core-wall. Collapse level of structure elements are investigated by yielded moment and plastic rotation that occurred on plastic hinges. Structure collapse level is evaluated by story drift ratio and elastic-inelastic behaviour curve which represent relation between base-shear and rood displacement. Five actual ground motions are selected. There are Northridge-01, Christchurch New Zealand, Chuetsu Japan, Taiwan, and Friuli Italy-01. The results of Non-Linear Time History Analysis show that performance of the strcuture is classificated as life safety level (LS) with 1,1% maximum drift ratio caused by Taiwan earthquake. According to FEMA- 356, maximum performance level of apartement building is life safety. Hence, the building meets the requirement. Plastification that happens to beam is under immediete occupancy level with 1,05 highest yielded moment ratio and 0,73% highest plastic rotation that occurred at hinges. Reduction factors of inelastic behaviour which are represented by R(actual), Cd(actual), dan Ω(actual) of the structure are 6.11, 4.74, 1.82 sequentially. Riwayat
