Abstract
Program magang merupakan bagian dari pembelajaran vokasi yang bertujuan mengintegrasikan teori yang diperoleh di perguruan tinggi dengan praktik di dunia industri. Kegiatan magang ini dilaksanakan di PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia pada Divisi Produksi dan Operasi untuk mempelajari sistem produksi minyak dan gas bumi, penerapan keselamatan proses, serta penyelesaian permasalahan teknis pada fasilitas produksi. Laporan ini menyajikan gambaran umum perusahaan, proses bisnis, alur pengolahan gas di Central Processing Facility (CPF) Bangkudulis, pengendalian kualitas produk, penerapan sistem keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja (K3L), serta pengelolaan limbah industri. Analisis teknis dilakukan melalui penyusunan Process Flow Diagram (PFD), Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID), studi Hazard and Operability (HAZOP), serta perhitungan neraca massa dan neraca energi pada beberapa peralatan utama, seperti Three Phase Separator, Flash Drum, Scrubber, Dehydration Unit, dan Electrical Heater. Selain itu, kegiatan magang juga mencakup penyelesaian dua studi troubleshooting, yaitu evaluasi kapasitas breathing valve dan emergency vent berdasarkan API Standard 2000, serta analisis penurunan performa Gas Cooler E-1A/1B akibat fouling menggunakan parameter fouling factor, overall heat transfer coefficient, dan pressure drop. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan teknik, evaluasi keselamatan proses, dan pemantauan kinerja peralatan berperan penting dalam menjaga keandalan operasi, meningkatkan efisiensi proses, serta meminimalkan potensi risiko operasional. Melalui kegiatan magang ini, mahasiswa memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih komprehensif mengenai penerapan prinsip-prinsip teknik kimia pada industri hulu minyak dan gas, sekaligus mengembangkan kemampuan analisis, pemecahan masalah, dan pengambilan keputusan yang dibutuhkan dalam lingkungan kerja profesional.

The internship program is an integral component of vocational education designed to bridge theoretical knowledge acquired in higher education with its practical implementation in industry. This internship was conducted at PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia within the Production and Operations Division to gain a comprehensive understanding of oil and gas production systems, process safety management, and technical troubleshooting in production facilities. This report presents an overview of the company, its business processes, the gas processing system at the Bangkudulis Central Processing Facility (CPF), product quality control, occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices, as well as industrial waste management. Technical analyses were carried out through the development of a Process Flow Diagram (PFD), Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID), Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) study, and mass and energy balance calculations for major processing units, including the Three-Phase Separator, Flash Drum, Scrubber, Dehydration Unit, and Electrical Heater. Furthermore, the internship focused on two troubleshooting case studies: the evaluation of breathing valve and emergency vent capacities based on API Standard 2000, and the performance assessment of the Gas Cooler E-1A/1B affected by fouling using fouling factor, overall heat transfer coefficient, and pressure drop analyses. The results demonstrate that engineering analysis, process safety evaluation, and equipment performance monitoring are essential for maintaining operational reliability, improving process efficiency, and minimizing operational risks. Overall, this internship enhanced the author's understanding of chemical engineering applications in the upstream oil and gas industry while strengthening analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills required in a professional engineering environment.
