Abstract

Dalam era globalisasi dan digitalisasi, kebutuhan industri terhadap tenaga kerja menuntut kompetensi yang semakin kompleks. Di Indonesia, salah satu bidang yang semakin penting dalam industri adalah Manajemen Proses Bisnis (BPM). Departemen Sistem Informasi Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (DSI-ITS) telah menetapkan BPM sebagai mata kuliah inti untuk menjawab kebutuhan ini. Namun, sejauh mana pendidikan BPM bisa sesuai dengan kompetensi yang dibutuhkan industri di Indonesia belum diketahui secara holistik. Penelitian serupa pernah dilakukan di Polandia dan Australia, tetapi hasilnya tidak bisa digeneralisasi di negara berkembang seperti Indonesia. Hal ini membuat potensi kesenjangan antara kompetensi yang dibutuhkan di pasar kerja dengan kompetensi yang diajarkan melalui pendidikan BPM perlu di analisis. Penelitian ini menganalisis kesesuaian pendidikan BPM yang diajarkan oleh DSI-ITS dengan kebutuhan dunia kerja terkait proses bisnis di Indonesia guna merumuskan rekomendasi pengembangan kurikulum yang relevan. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan content analysis terhadap data lowongan pekerjaan terkait proses bisnis di Indonesia dan kurikulum pendidikan BPM di DSI-ITS. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis menggunakan teknik open coding dengan bantuan perangkat lunak ATLAS.ti dan dipetakan menggunakan kerangka tujuh dimensi kompetensi era digital yang mencakup Technical, Social, Cognitive, Digital, Green, Personal, dan Transversal Skill. Tingkat kesesuaian kompetensi dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan cross-tabulation yang mempertemukan tingkat kebutuhan industri dari analisis frekuensi lowongan pekerjaan dengan tingkat pengajaran aktual yang diperoleh melalui survei dosen pengampu. Hasil penelitian mengidentifikasi 83 kompetensi dari lowongan pekerjaan yang tersebar dalam tujuh dimensi kompetensi era digital, dengan 13 kompetensi berkebutuhan tinggi yang muncul pada setidaknya separuh lowongan pekerjaan. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa industri di Indonesia cenderung membutuhkan kompetensi multidimensional dan pekerjaan terkait proses bisnis di Indonesia dipandang sebagai fungsi kerja generalis. Analisis kesesuaian menunjukkan bahwa dimensi Technical Skills memiliki tingkat kesesuaian tertinggi, sedangkan kesenjangan terbesar terjadi pada dimensi Transversal Skills. Sebanyak 58,1% kompetensi berada dalam kategori sesuai, 34,9% mengalami kesenjangan, dan 7% mengalami kelebihan cakupan. Penelitian juga menemukan banyaknya kompetensi yang sesungguhnya diajarkan secara aktual, tetapi belum terdokumentasikan dalam kurikulum formal seperti silabus dan rencana pembelajaran semester. Berdasarkan temuan-temuan yang didapat, rekomendasi pengembangan kurikulum diusulkan untuk fokus pada perancangan ulang kurikulum, perluasan cakupan, pendalaman pengajaran, pemertahanan kompetensi, realokasi porsi pengajaran, dan pendekatan pedagogis dalam pembelajaran BPM.

In the era of globalization and digitalization, industries increasingly demand complex competencies from their workforce. In Indonesia, one of the increasingly important fields is Business Process Management (BPM). The Information Systems Department at Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (IS-ITS) has designated BPM as a core course to address this need. However, the extent to which BPM education aligns with the competencies required by Indonesian industries has not yet been holistically evaluated. Similar studies have been conducted in Poland and Australia, but their findings cannot be generalized to developing countries such as Indonesia. This creates a need to examine the potential gap between the competencies demanded by the job market and those taught through BPM education. This study analyzes the alignment between BPM education at IS-ITS and the needs of the business process-related workforce in Indonesia, with the aim of formulating relevant curriculum development recommendations. The study employed a qualitative method using a content analysis approach applied to job postings related to business processes in Indonesia and to the BPM curriculum at IS-ITS. The collected data were analyzed using open coding techniques supported by ATLAS.ti and mapped using a seven-dimensional digital-era competency framework encompassing Technical, Social, Cognitive, Digital, Green, Personal, and Transversal Skills. The level of competency alignment was then analyzed using a cross-tabulation matrix approach, integrating industry demand levels derived from job posting frequency analysis with actual teaching levels obtained from a faculty survey. The study identified 83 competencies from job postings across seven dimensions of digital-era competency, with 13 high-demand competencies appearing in at least half of the job postings. The findings indicate that Indonesian industries tend to require multidimensional competencies and that business process-related positions in Indonesia are generally viewed as generalist roles. The analysis showed that the Technical Skills dimension had the highest level of alignment, while the largest gap occurred in the Transversal Skills dimension. A total of 58.1% of competencies fell into the fit category, 34.9% showed gaps, and 7% were overcovered. The study also found that many competencies were actually taught but had not yet been documented in formal curriculum documents, such as syllabi and semester lesson plans. Based on these findings, recommendations for curriculum development focus on curriculum redesign, expanded coverage, deeper instructional emphasis, competency maintenance, reallocation of teaching portions, and pedagogical approaches to BPM learning.
