Abstract
Infeksi merupakan gangguan kesehatan yang disebabkan oleh mikroorganisme seperti bakteri, virus, atau jamur. Dalam dunia medis, terdapat berbagai jenis penyakit infeksi, antara lain Infeksi Saluran Pernapasan Akut (ISPA), infeksi saluran pencernaan, infeksi paru-paru, Infeksi Saluran Kemih (ISK), dan lain sebagainya. Di antara berbagai penyakit infeksi tersebut, Infeksi Saluran Kemih (ISK) merupakan infeksi dengan jumlah penderita terbanyak kedua setelah ISPA. ISK dapat terjadi pada berbagai kelompok usia dan berpotensi menimbulkan komplikasi serius, seperti infeksi ginjal hingga gangguan fungsi ginjal apabila tidak ditangani secara tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji dinamika penyebaran ISK menggunakan pendekatan pemodelan matematika. Model dikembangkan dalam bentuk sistem persamaan diferensial nonlinier dengan membagi populasi ke dalam beberapa kompartemen berdasarkan status kesehatan individu, yaitu individu rentan, individu yang terinfeksi ISK, individu yang mengalami infeksi ginjal, dan individu yang telah sembuh dari ISK. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan kontrol berupa penyuluhan mengenai bahaya ISK dan pemberian antibiotik dapat memengaruhi dinamika penyebaran penyakit. Pada tugas akhir ini, masalah kontrol optimal diselesaikan menggunakan Prinsip Minimum Pontryagin yang disimulasikan dengan metode numerik Runge-Kutta orde empat.

Infection is a health disorder caused by microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, or fungi. In the medical field, various types of infectious diseases include Upper Respiratory Tract Infection (URTI), digestive tract infections, lung infections, Urinary Tract Infection (UTI), and others. Among these diseases, Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is the second most common infectious disease after Upper Respiratory Tract Infection (URTI). UTI affects individuals across different age groups and may lead to serious complications, such as kidney infection and impaired renal function, if left untreated. This study aims to investigate the transmission dynamics of Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) using a mathematical modeling approach. The model is formulated as a nonlinear system of differential equations by dividing the population into several compartments based on health status, namely susceptible individuals, individuals infected with UTI, individuals with kidney infection, and individuals who have recovered from UTI. The results of this study indicate that introducing control strategies in the form of public education on the dangers of UTI and antibiotic treatment can significantly influence the disease dynamics. In this final project, the optimal control problem is solved using Pontryagin’s Minimum Principle and simulated through the fourth-order Runge-Kutta numerical method.
