Abstract

The increasing demand for electrical energy in the public service sector, particularly in hospitals operating 24 hours a day, has led to high energy operational costs. RSUD Simpang Lima Gumul (SLG) Kediri possesses significant rooftop potential that has not been optimally utilized for energy independence. This study aims to analyze the technical and economic feasibility of implementing a grid-connected (on-grid) Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system with a total installed capacity of 618 kWp utilizing JA Solar 550 Wp modules and Huawei SUN2000 multi-inverter configuration. The methodology involves field surveys for load profiles, meteorological data analysis from the Global Solar Atlas, system performance simulation via PVsyst 7.4.0, and load flow analysis using DIgSILENT PowerFactory 2024. Technical simulation results demonstrate that the PV system generates a net useful energy of 809,964 kWh/year fully absorbed by the hospital load, achieving an annual average Solar Fraction of 27.28% and a long-term average Performance Ratio of 71.40%. Load flow analysis confirms successful peak shaving during weekdays, reducing the main transformer peak loading and improving the critical busbar voltage profile (Building B). Financially, with a total initial capital expenditure of IDR 7,103,427,938.00, the system is highly feasible, yielding a positive Net Present Value (NPV) of IDR 404,277,575.69, a Benefit-Cost Ratio (BCR) of 1.06, an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 8.62%, and a Payback Period of 10.43 years
