Abstract

Penggunaan kompresor atau blower sentrifugal saat ini sangat penting untuk mendukung dunia industri, baik itu pada industri-industri kimia atau pada pekerjaan-pekerjaan gas. Pada umumnya kompresor yang dijual di pasaran atau kompresor yang mempunyai masa kerja lama mempunyai performansi tidak sesuai dengan kondisi sebenarnya. Maka untuk mendapatkan kondisi yang diinginkan kompresor tersebut harus dilakukan uji performansi. Pada tugas akhir ini kami mencoba untuk melakukan pengujian kompresor sentrifugal yang terdapat di laboratorium pompa-kompresor D3 Teknik Mesin, FTI-ITS. Dalam pengujian ini, frekuensi putaran kompresor sentrifugal yang dipakai adalah sebesar 45 Hz dan dengan variasi lubang downstream (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) cm. Tujuan dari pengujian ini adalah untuk mengetahui Performansi dari kompresor sentrifugal. Hasil dari pengujian menunjukan bahwa kompresor mampu menghasilkan tekanan total Ptotal = 507,03 Pa, kapasitas (Q) = 0,0265m^3/s}$, dengan efisiensi sebesar 4,7%

Utilization of compressor or blower centrifugal is very important to support industrial life, as well as chemical industry or gas working. Generally, compressor that sale in market or compressor that have a long work time have a performance not suitable with the real condition. So, to get the real condition we must to do the performance testing for the compressor. In this final project we try to make a performance testing for the centrifugal compressor in pump-compressor laboratory D III Mechanical Engineering. In this performance testing, rotation frequency of the centrifugal compressor is 45 Hz and with downstream variation (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) cm. The aim of this final project is to know the performance of centrifugal compressor. The result from this final project are: compressor can produce compressor total pressure Ptotal = 507,03 Pa , volumetric flow rate (Q) = 0,0265 m^3/s with efficiency 4,7%.
