Abstract
Berdasarkan evaluasi ekonomi, Pay Out Time (POT) sebesar 8 tahun, dan Break Event Point (BEP) sebesar 54,60%.

This Final Project aims to design a bio-aviation fuel (Bioavtur) plant from Crude Palm Oil (CPO) using the Catalytic Hydrothermolysis Jet Fuel (CHJ) process with a production capacity of 50,000 tons per year and continuous operation for 24 hours per day over 330 operating days per year. The main feedstock used is Crude Palm Oil (CPO), with supporting materials including phosphoric acid (H₃PO₄), bleaching earth, hydrogen (H₂), and demineralized water. This plant is designed to contribute to meeting the national aviation fuel blending demand and to reduce dependence on imported fossil-based jet fuel. The CHJ process is selected because it is capable of directly converting triglycerides in CPO into paraffinic, isoparaffinic, and cycloparaffinic hydrocarbons through a single-stage catalyzed hydrothermal reaction. The production process consists of raw material preparation and purification (degumming and bleaching), hydrothermal reaction and hydrotreating, and product purification using separators and distillation columns. Based on the mass balance results, the bioavtur fraction produced reaches approximately ±50 wt% of the total liquid products, with by-products including naphtha, diesel, glycerol, light gases, and reaction water. The selected company form is a limited liability company (Perseroan Terbatas, PT) with a total of 90 employees, including shift and non-shift personnel. Based on the economic evaluation, the pay out time (POT) is 8 years, and the break-even point (BEP) is 54,60%.
