Abstract

Industri galangan kapal di Gresik menghadapi krisis operasional akibat tingginya laju sedimentasi pada area docking, yang menyebabkan penurunan kedalaman air. Kondisi ini secara signifikan menghambat manuver kapal dan menekan produktivitas galangan. Untuk mengatasi pendangkalan kritis ini, dibutuhkan metode pemeliharaan yang lebih efisien dan berkelanjutan dibandingkan pengerukan mekanis konvensional. Penelitian ini bertujuan merumuskan perencanaan teknis pemeliharaan kedalaman dock menggunakan metode Water Injection Dredging (WID), yang bekerja berdasarkan prinsip fluidisasi sedimen. Langkah awal adalah menganalisis morfologi area dock melalui perbandingan data historis. Hasil laju sedimen ini kemudian digunakan sebagai dasar untuk menentukan spesifikasi teknis sistem fluidisasi. Perencanaan teknis ini akan fokus pada: Merumuskan interval waktu pemompaan/fluidisasi yang ideal dan berkelanjutan dan Mengevaluasi pengaruh operasional sistem WID terhadap tingkat kekeruhan air. Luaran dari penelitian ini adalah rekomendasi letak dan waktu nyala alat WID yang mampu menjaga kedalaman dock secara konsisten, sehingga mengoptimalkan efisiensi operasional pemeliharaan infrastruktur galangan.

The shipbuilding industry in Gresik is facing an operational crisis due to the high rate of sedimentation in the docking area, which has led to a reduction in water depth. This situation significantly hinders vessel manoeuvring and reduces the shipyard’s productivity. To address this critical siltation, a more efficient and sustainable maintenance method is required compared to conventional mechanical dredging. This research aims to formulate a technical plan for maintaining dock depth using the Water Injection Dredging (WID) method, which operates on the principle of sediment fluidisation. The initial step is to analyse the morphology of the dock area by comparing historical data. The results of this sedimentation rate analysis will then be used as the basis for determining the technical specifications of the fluidisation system. This technical planning will focus on: determining the ideal and sustainable pumping/fluidisation intervals; and evaluating the operational impact of the WID system on water turbidity levels. The output of this research is a recommendation regarding the location and operating times of the WID equipment capable of consistently maintaining the dock depth, thereby optimising the operational efficiency of shipyard infrastructure maintenance.
