Abstract
PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur Pabrik 3 dikenal sebagai salah satu produsen urea dan amonia terbesar di Asia, sehingga keandalan sistem proteksi menjadi faktor yang sangat penting. Gangguan kecil pada instalasi tenaga listrik dapat mengganggu proses produksi dan menimbulkan kerugian ekonomi yang signifikan. Selain itu, risiko arc flash pada jaringan tegangan menengah maupun tinggi menuntut adanya evaluasi koordinasi proteksi yang mampu menjaga kontinuitas operasi sekaligus memastikan keselamatan pekerja dan peralatan. Tugas akhir ini dilakukan untuk menilai koordinasi proteksi, melakukan simulasi dan analisis arc flash, serta menerapkan metode kurva batas energi pada sistem kelistrikan PT PKT Pabrik 3. Pemodelan dilakukan menggunakan ETAP 21.0, sementara analisis arc flash mengacu pada standar IEEE 1584-2002 dan NFPA 70E-2018. Secara keseluruhan, tugas akhir ini menghasilkan rekomendasi perubahan setting proteksi yang meningkatkan selektivitas dan menurunkan incident energy, menunjukkan efektivitas metode kurva batas energi dalam penentuan kategori PPE secara lebih cepat dan akurat, serta memberikan peningkatan pada aspek keselamatan dan keandalan sistem kelistrikan di PT PKT Pabrik 3.

PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur Plant 3 is one of the largest urea and ammonia producers in Asia, making the reliability of its protection system essential. Even minor disturbances in the electrical installation can distrupt production and result in significant economic losses. In addition, the risk of arc flash in medium- and high-voltage networks highlights the need for a protection coordination assessment that ensures operational continuity while safeguarding personnel and equipment. This study evaluates the protection coordination, performs arc flash simulations and analysis, and applies the energy boundary curve method to the electrical system of PT PKT Plant 3. The system modeling is carried out using ETAP 21.0, with arc flash analysis referring to IEEE 1584-2002 and NFPA 70E-2018 standards. Overall, the study provides recommendations for revised protection settings that enhance selectivity and reduce incident energy, demonstrates the effectiveness of the energy boundary curve method in determining PPE categories more quickly and accurately, and contributes to improved safety and system reliability at PT PKT Plant 3.
