Abstract

Perusahaan minyak di Jawa Tengah merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang eksplorasi dan produksi minyak mentah untuk mendukung kebutuhan energi nasional. Perusahaan ini memiliki sistem kelistrikan yang kompleks, terdiri dari generator turbin gas berkapasitas 14,1 MW. Berdasarkan temuan di lapangan, sistem proteksi pada pembangkit tersebut belum berfungsi secara andal, ditunjukkan oleh beberapa kejadian trip yang menyebabkan blackout dan mengganggu operasional perusahaan. Salah satu penyebab utamanya adalah koordinasi relai pengaman yang belum sesuai dengan standar yang berlaku untuk pengamanan internal generator, terutama saat terjadi gangguan satu fasa ke tanah dan gangguan hubung singkat yang menyebabkan Is-limiter pecah. Tugas akhir ini berfokus pada evaluasi sistem proteksi internal pada generator tersebut. Hasil evaluasi diharapkan dapat memberikan solusi berupa rekomendasi pengaturan relai generator yang tepat guna meningkatkan keandalan sistem dan mencegah kerusakan pada peralatan internal generator saat terjadi gangguan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa dari beberapa relai proteksi internal generator yang dianalisis, terdapat relai yang pengaturannya perlu disesuaikan, serta salah satu relai direkomendasikan untuk dinonaktifkan (deactivated) karena fungsinya tumpang tindih dengan skema proteksi lain sehingga berpotensi menyebabkan mal-operasi.

The oil company in Central Java is engaged in crude oil exploration and production to support national energy needs. The company operates a complex electrical power system, comprising a gas turbine generator with a capacity of 14,1 MW. Based on field findings, the protection system of the power plant has not functioned reliably, as evidenced by several tripping incidents that caused blackouts and disrupted the company's operations. One of the main causes is protective relay coordination that does not comply with the applicable standards for generator internal protection, particularly during single-phase-to-ground faults and short-circuit disturbances that caused the Is-limiter to rupture. This final project focuses on evaluating the internal protection system of the generator. The evaluation results are expected to provide a solution in the form of appropriate relay setting recommendations for the generator to improve system reliability and prevent damage to internal generator equipment during disturbances. The evaluation results show that, among the several internal protection relays analyzed, some settings required adjustment, while one relay is recommended to be deactivated due to functional overlap with other protection schemes, which could otherwise lead to relay mal-operation.
