Abstract

Kegiatan magang industri dilaksanakan di PT. Rukun Semangat Abadi dengan tujuan untuk memahami penerapan sistem perawatan mesin di lingkungan industri serta menganalisis potensi kegagalan pada komponen hot plate mesin corrugated menggunakan metode Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Mesin corrugated merupakan mesin utama dalam proses produksi karton bergelombang sehingga keandalannya sangat berpengaruh terhadap kelancaran proses produksi. Kerusakan pada komponen hot plate dapat menyebabkan penurunan kualitas produk, meningkatnya downtime, dan kerugian bagi perusahaan. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini meliputi observasi lapangan, wawancara dengan teknisi, pengumpulan data kerusakan, identifikasi mode kegagalan, serta analisis menggunakan metode FMEA. Penilaian dilakukan berdasarkan parameter Severity (S), Occurrence (O), dan Detection (D) untuk memperoleh nilai Risk Priority Number (RPN) sebagai dasar penentuan prioritas perbaikan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa komponen yang memiliki nilai RPN tinggi sehingga memerlukan tindakan perawatan yang lebih diprioritaskan. Rekomendasi yang diberikan meliputi penerapan preventive maintenance melalui inspeksi berkala, kalibrasi sensor suhu, pemeriksaan elemen pemanas, pelumasan komponen, dan penggantian komponen yang mengalami penurunan performa. Penerapan rekomendasi tersebut diharapkan mampu meningkatkan keandalan mesin, mengurangi risiko kegagalan, meminimalkan downtime, serta menjaga kontinuitas proses produksi di PT. Rukun Semangat Abadi.

The industrial internship was conducted at PT. Rukun Semangat Abadi with the aim of understanding the application of machine maintenance systems in an industrial environment and analyzing potential failures in the hot plate components of corrugated machines using the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) method. Corrugated machines are the main machines in the corrugated cardboard production process so that their reliability greatly affects the smoothness of the production process. Damage to the hot plate components can cause a decrease in product quality, increased downtime, and losses for the company. The methods used in this activity include field observations, interviews with technicians, damage data collection, failure mode identification, and analysis using the FMEA method. The assessment was carried out based on the parameters of Severity (S), Occurrence (O), and Detection (D) to obtain a Risk Priority Number (RPN) value as a basis for determining repair priorities. The analysis results showed that there were several components with high RPN values ​​​​that required more prioritized maintenance actions. Recommendations provided included the implementation of preventive maintenance through periodic inspections, temperature sensor calibration, heating element inspection, component lubrication, and replacement of components that experienced decreased performance. The implementation of these recommendations is expected to improve machine reliability, reduce the risk of failure, minimize downtime, and maintain the continuity of the production process at PT.
