Abstract

Kegiatan magang merupakan salah satu bentuk pembelajaran yang bertujuan memberikan pengalaman kerja nyata kepada mahasiswa serta meningkatkan kompetensi sesuai bidang keahlian. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Aviation Fuel Terminal (AFT) Juanda pada fungsi Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) serta Maintenance. Selama pelaksanaan magang, dilakukan pengamatan terhadap proses operasional penerimaan, penimbunan, dan penyaluran bahan bakar penerbangan (Avtur), penerapan aspek keselamatan kerja, serta kegiatan pemeliharaan fasilitas distribusi bahan bakar. Kegiatan yang dilaksanakan berupa evaluasi perhitungan instalasi pompa hydrant untuk distribusi Avtur pada Terminal 1. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pengumpulan data teknis pompa, karakteristik fluida, spesifikasi pipa, serta komponen instalasi, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan perhitungan kecepatan aliran, head statis, head dinamis, dan head efektif instalasi berdasarkan teori mekanika fluida. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa kecepatan aliran pada sistem perpipaan sebesar 1,645 m/s sehingga telah memenuhi rekomendasi kecepatan aliran. Selain itu, diperoleh head efektif instalasi sebesar 174 m, sedangkan spesifikasi head pompa yang digunakan sebesar 170 m. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa head pompa yang tersedia masih lebih rendah dibandingkan kebutuhan head efektif instalasi sehingga diperlukan pompa dengan spesifikasi head yang lebih besar agar sistem distribusi Avtur dapat beroperasi secara optimal, aman, dan andal. Kegiatan ini memberikan pemahaman mengenai sistem distribusi bahan bakar penerbangan, penerapan aspek HSSE, serta penerapan ilmu mekanika fluida dalam analisis kinerja instalasi pompa.

The internship program is designed to provide students with practical work experience while enhancing competencies relevant to their field of study. This program was conducted at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Aviation Fuel Terminal (AFT) Juanda within the Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) and Maintenance functions. During the internship, observations were carried out on the operational processes of aviation fuel receiving, storage, and distribution, the implementation of occupational health and safety practices, and the maintenance of fuel distribution facilities. The main project focused on evaluating the hydrant pump installation for aviation fuel (Avtur) distribution at Terminal 1. The evaluation was conducted by collecting technical data on the pump, fluid properties, piping specifications, and installation components, followed by analytical calculations of flow velocity, static head, dynamic head, and total effective head based on fluid mechanics principles. The results indicated that the flow velocity in the piping system was 1.645 m/s, which meets the recommended flow velocity criteria. Furthermore, the calculated effective installation head was 174 m, while the installed pump was rated at 170 m. These findings indicate that the available pump head is lower than the required effective head, suggesting that a pump with a higher head specification is needed to ensure optimal, safe, and reliable aviation fuel distribution. This internship provided valuable knowledge regarding aviation fuel distribution systems, HSSE implementation, and the application of fluid mechanics principles in pump installation performance analysis.
