Abstract

Jatuh dari ketinggian menyumbang 41,2% kematian akibat kecelakaan kerja di sektor konstruksi Indonesia, yang menegaskan perlunya pelatihan efektif untuk prosedur 100% tie-off. Penelitian ini mengevaluasi sistem pelatihan berbasis VR "VR Savior" milik PT Molca Teknologi Nusantara, dibandingkan dengan pelatihan berbasis video sebagai standar industri saat ini, menggunakan desain komparatif metode campuran dengan 32 partisipan. Data dikumpulkan melalui pre-test dan post-test, observasi performa, System Usability Scale (SUS), Virtual Reality Sickness Questionnaire (VRSQ), wawancara Retrospective Think Aloud, dan penilaian kesesuaian standar K3. Kedua metode menghasilkan pemahaman konseptual yang setara terhadap 100% tie-off, tanpa perbedaan signifikan secara statistik pada skor post-test (VR: 86,67; video: 90,83). Skor usabilitas VR (SUS = 58) lebih rendah dibandingkan video (71,83), namun kesenjangan ini dapat ditelusuri ke penyebab spesifik yang dapat diperbaiki seperti ketidakbiasaan kontroler, kelebihan beban informasi, dan kesulitan identifikasi objek. Hal ini bukan merupakan keterbatasan mendasar media VR. Familiaritas dengan permainan video dan VR sebelumnya memoderasi penyelesaian tugas, cybersickness, dan persepsi usabilitas, menunjukkan kesenjangan tersebut sebagian mencerminkan karakteristik proses pembelajaran paartisipan. Kesesuaian K3 terpenuhi penuh pada tiga dari tujuh aspek yang dinilai, dengan kesenjangan yang tersisa dapat dipetakan ke penambahan konten spesifik. Temuan ini menunjukkan adanya jalur perbaikan yang jelas seperti menyelesaikan kesenjangan usabilitas dan konten yang teridentifikasi, bukan meninggalkan VR sebagai media pelatihan. Pelatihan berbasis VR karenanya direkomendasikan secara kondisional, menunggu penyempurnaan sistem yang terarah dan desain evaluasi yang lebih sensitif terhadap aspek perilaku.

Falls from height account for 41.2% of construction fatalities in Indonesia, underscoring the need for effective 100% tie-off training. This study evaluates PT Molca Teknologi Nusantara's VR-based training system, "VR Savior," against video-based training which is the current industry standard. This study uses a mixed-method comparative design with 32 participants. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test assessments, performance observation, the System Usability Scale (SUS), the Virtual Reality Sickness Questionnaire (VRSQ), Retrospective Think Aloud interviews, and an OSH compliance assessment. Both methods produced comparable conceptual understanding of 100% tie-off, with no statistically significant difference in post-test scores (VR: 86.67; video: 90.83). VR's usability score (SUS = 58) was lower than video's (71.83), but this gap traced to specific, addressable causes such as controller unfamiliarity, information overload, and object-identification difficulty rather than a fundamental limitation of the medium. Prior gaming and VR familiarity moderated task completion, cybersickness, and usability perception, indicating the gap partly reflects different learning processes rather than training content alone. OSH alignment was fully compliant in three of seven assessed aspects, with remaining gaps mapped to specific content additions. These findings point to a clear improvement pathway such as resolving the identified usability and content gaps, rather than abandoning VR as a training medium. VR-based training is therefore conditionally recommended, pending targeted system refinement and a more behaviorally sensitive evaluation design.
