Abstract

Mesin Depalletizer merupakan komponen penting dalam sistem otomasi industri yang berfungsi memindahkan produk secara otomatis dari palet menuju tahap proses berikutnya. Kinerja mesin ini sangat bergantung pada keandalan komponen mekanis, salah satunya linear bushing yang berperan sebagai penopang dan pemandu poros agar dapat bergerak linier dengan gesekan minimal. Material bushing yang digunakan saat ini, yaitu SUJ2 (LMF40), dinilai belum sepenuhnya mampu menahan beban kerja dan gesekan tinggi secara berkelanjutan, sehingga menimbulkan keausan dan frekuensi penggantian komponen yang tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan membandingkan karakteristik material serta umur pakai bushing SUJ2 dengan Phosphor Bronze sebagai alternatif hasil redesign. Metode yang digunakan meliputi identifikasi akar masalah dengan fishbone diagram dan 5W+1H, perhitungan nominal life bushing SUJ2 berdasarkan rumus Nominal Life pada katalog THK, serta perhitungan umur pakai Bronze Bushing menggunakan pendekatan PV Limit. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan umur pakai bushing SUJ2 sebesar ±1.434 km (5.611 jam), sedangkan Bronze Bushing mencapai ±12.502 km (55.417 jam). Perbedaan ini terutama dipengaruhi oleh dimensi panjang bushing, di mana Bronze (155 mm) lebih panjang dibandingkan SUJ2 (80 mm), sehingga luas kontak lebih besar dan tekanan permukaan yang terjadi lebih rendah. Selain unggul dari sisi umur pakai, Bronze juga memiliki ketahanan korosi lebih baik dan mampu bekerja tanpa pelumas, sedangkan SUJ2 memerlukan pelumasan untuk mempertahankan performanya. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, penggunaan material Bronze pada linear bushing dapat menjadi alternatif yang lebih efisien untuk memperpanjang umur pakai komponen dan mengurangi frekuensi penggantian pada mesin Depalletizer.

The Depalletizer machine is a key component in industrial automation systems, functioning to automatically transfer products from pallets to the next process stage. Its performance heavily depends on the reliability of mechanical components, particularly the linear bushing, which supports and guides the shaft for linear motion with minimal friction. The currently used bushing material, SUJ2 (LMF40), has proven unable to fully withstand sustained high loads and friction, resulting in wear and frequent component replacement. This study aims to compare the material characteristics and service life of SUJ2 bushings against Phosphor Bronze as a redesign alternative. The methods applied include root-cause identification using a fishbone diagram and 5W+1H, nominal life calculation for the SUJ2 bushing based on the THK Nominal Life formula, and service-life calculation for the Bronze bushing using the PV Limit approach. Results show the SUJ2 bushing has a service life of ±1,434 km (5,611 hours), while the Bronze bushing reaches ±12,502 km (55,417 hours). This difference is mainly attributed to bushing length, with Bronze (155 mm) being longer than SUJ2 (80 mm), resulting in a larger contact area and lower surface pressure. Bronze also offers better corrosion resistance and can operate without lubrication, whereas SUJ2 requires lubrication to maintain its performance. These findings indicate that Bronze is a more efficient alternative material for extending bushing service life and reducing replacement frequency in the Depalletizer machine.
