Abstract
Pemantauan kualitas air secara real-time diperlukan untuk mendukung pengelolaan lingkungan yang efektif pada ITS Smart Eco Campus. Namun, pemantauan manual berpotensi menimbulkan keterlambatan dalam deteksi perubahan kualitas air serta menyulitkan integrasi data dari berbagai lokasi pengukuran. Penelitian ini merancang dan mengimplementasikan sistem akuisisi data kualitas air terpusat berbasis jaringan Ethernet dengan topologi star yang menghubungkan empat Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) dan satu Master Terminal Unit (MTU) melalui protokol Modbus TCP/IP. Sistem ini dibangun untuk mendistribusikan data sensor kualitas air multiparameter secara kontinu, terintegrasi, dan andal. Metode penelitian meliputi perancangan arsitektur jaringan, integrasi perangkat, konfigurasi komunikasi, serta pengujian Quality of Service (QoS) pada kondisi laboratorium dan lapangan. Parameter yang diuji mencakup latency (Round Trip Time/RTT) melalui ping dan verifikasi Wireshark, packet loss, serta throughput menggunakan iPerf3 berbasis TCP. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan RTT rata-rata sebesar 0,80–1,02 ms pada kondisi laboratorium dan 0,80–0,82 ms pada kondisi lapangan, dengan lonjakan maksimum di bawah 6 ms. Nilai packet loss tercatat 0% pada 1090 paket/RTU, sedangkan throughput stabil sebesar 93,9 Mbps (11.938 MBytes/1090 s) pada kedua kondisi pengujian tanpa degradasi pascainstalasi dan mendekati kapasitas Fast Ethernet. Secara keseluruhan, nilai delay dan packet loss berada jauh di bawah ambang objective performance IP pada ITU-T Y.1541, sementara pengujian throughput TCP mengikuti kerangka RFC 6349. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa sistem yang dikembangkan layak digunakan sebagai infrastruktur akuisisi data lingkungan terpusat untuk mendukung pemantauan kualitas air real-time di lingkungan kampus.

Real-time water quality monitoring is essential to support environmental management at the ITS Smart Eco Campus; however, manual monitoring can delay the detection of water-quality changes and hinder data integration across locations. This study designs and implements an Ethernet-based backbone network with a star topology to continuously and centrally distribute multi-parameter water-quality sensor data. The system connects four Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) to a Master Terminal Unit (MTU) using the Modbus TCP/IP protocol through a switched wired network. The methodology includes network topology design, hardware integration, communication configuration, and Quality of Service (QoS) performance testing under laboratory and field conditions. QoS evaluation considers latency (Round Trip Time/RTT) measured using ICMP ping and verified via Wireshark, packet loss, and throughput measured using iPerf3 in TCP mode. The results show consistently low RTT of 0.80–1.02 ms (laboratory) and 0.80–0.82 ms (field) with maximum spikes below 6 ms, 0% packet loss over 1,090 packets per RTU, and stable throughput of 93.9 Mbps (11.938 MBytes over 1,090 s) under both conditions without post-installation degradation, approaching Fast Ethernet capacity. Indicatively, the delay and loss performance is well within ITU-T Y.1541 objectives, and the TCP throughput testing follows the RFC 6349 framework, confirming the backbone’s suitability for centralized real-time campus monitoring.
