Abstract

Sistem transfer line berperan penting dalam menyalurkan bulk shampoo dan conditioner dari area making menuju sachet packing production line secara kontinu. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis sistem instrumentasi dan kontrol pada transfer line, mengidentifikasi fungsi setiap komponen instrumentasi, serta menganalisis peran sistem kontrol dalam menjaga kontinuitas aliran dan kualitas bulk product. Penelitian dilakukan melalui observasi langsung, pengamatan Human Machine Interface (HMI) dan Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), studi dokumen teknis, serta diskusi dengan personel terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem transfer line menerapkan pengendalian berbasis Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) yang terintegrasi dengan HMI/SCADA untuk memonitor level, pressure, temperature, dan posisi pigging ball secara real-time. Sensor, transfer pump, dan pneumatic valve bekerja secara terintegrasi melalui sequence control pada mode production, pigging, washout, dan sanitization. Integrasi tersebut mampu menjaga kontinuitas suplai bulk product, mempertahankan kestabilan proses, mendukung kebersihan sistem, serta mengurangi potensi kontaminasi silang sehingga meningkatkan keandalan proses produksi.
