Abstract
Peningkatan emisi CO2 dari produksi hidrogen berbasis steam methane reforming (SMR), sekitar 9-11 kg CO2 per kg H2, mendorong pengembangan teknologi rendah karbon seperti Sorption-Enhanced Steam Methane Reforming (SE-SMR).

The increase in CO2 emissions from hydrogen production based on steam methane reforming (SMR), which generates about 9-11 kg CO2 per kg H2, has encouraged the development of low-carbon technologies such as Sorption-Enhanced Steam Methane Reforming (SE-SMR). SE-SMR can increase H2 purity to 95-99% and reduce CO2 emissions by about 60-90% through in situ CO2 capture using CaO sorbents. This study evaluates the effect of shell species, namely Vexillum sp., Cardiidae sp., and Anadara sp., on the characteristics of CaO sorbents for CO2 sorption. The samples were characterized using XRF, XRD, BET, SEM-EDX, CO2-TPD, TGA/DTG, kinetic modeling, and decarbonation-carbonation cyclic stability tests.
