Abstract
Gempa bumi Mentawai (Mw 7.8, 25 Oktober 2010) merupakan fenomena tsunami earthquake yang menantang pemahaman konvensional mengenai siklus seismik di zona subduksi. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi evolusi deformasi coseismic dan early afterslip dengan memanfaatkan data GPS kontinu beresolusi tinggi (interval 15 detik) dari Sumatra GPS Array (SuGAr). Berbeda dengan studi terdahulu yang umumnya terbatas pada analisis deret waktu satu dimensi, penelitian ini memanfaatkan teknik inversi PCA (Principal Component Analysis) untuk merekonstruksi evolusi Spatiotemporal yang memetakan persebaran wilayah coseismic hingga postseismic afterslip. Inovasi utama terletak pada kemampuan inversi PCA dalam memisahkan sinyal tektonik transien dari noise kinematik GPS tanpa memerlukan asumsi fungsi peluruhan temporal yang kaku di awal pemodelan. Melalui konversi perpindahan permukaan menjadi distribusi slip yang dependen terhadap waktu pada bidang patahan, penelitian ini bertujuan memetakan transisi slip dari zona ruptur dangkal menuju zona afterslip. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan inferensi saintifik yang lebih komprehensif mengenai karakteristik friksional pada megathrust Sunda serta meningkatkan akurasi estimasi momen aseismik, yang merupakan parameter krusial bagi pengembangan sistem peringatan dini tsunami.

The Mentawai earthquake (Mw 7.8, October 25, 2010) was a tsunami earthquake that challenged conventional understanding of seismic cycles in subduction zones. This study explores the evolution of coseismic and early afterslip deformation using high-resolution (15-second) continuous GPS data from the Sumatra GPS Array (SuGAr). Unlike previous studies that were limited to one-dimensional time-series analysis, this study developed a model using PCA Inversion (Principal Component Analysis) techniques. The main innovation lies in PCA inversion's ability to separate transient tectonic signals from GPS kinematic noise without requiring rigid assumptions about temporal decay functions at the outset. By converting surface displacement into a time-dependent slip distribution on the fault plane, this study aims to map the slip transition from the shallow rupture zone to the depth-dependent afterslip zone. These results are expected to provide new insights into the frictional properties of the Sunda megathrust and improve the accuracy of aseismic moment estimation, which is crucial for tsunami early warning systems.
