Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi ChatGPT telah mentransformasi cara mahasiswa berinteraksi dengan tugas akademik, namun di sisi lain memunculkan tantangan etika yang kompleks. Meskipun kebijakan institusional mulai dirumuskan, terdapat kesenjangan pemahaman mengenai bagaimana mahasiswa mengalami dilema etis secara nyata dalam proses penggunaan AI. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan pengalaman mahasiswa secara kronologis melalui pendekatan AI Student Journey Map (AISJM) dan mengidentifikasi dilema etika yang muncul pada setiap tahapan perjalanan tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif eksploratif dengan melakukan wawancara mendalam berbasis timeline mapping terhadap mahasiswa aktif Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) yang memiliki pengalaman penggunaan ChatGPT. Analisis data dilakukan secara tematik menggunakan perangkat lunak ATLAS.ti untuk mengintegrasikan aspek literasi AI dengan tahapan perjalanan pengguna. Hasil penelitian ini berupa AI Student Journey Map yang memvisualisasikan titik interaksi (touchpoints), respons emosional, dan titik kritis etika (ethical critical points) mahasiswa. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi teoritis bagi pengembangan literasi AI sebagai proses dinamis, serta memberikan rekomendasi praktis bagi institusi dalam menyusun kebijakan penggunaan ChatGPT yang lebih kontekstual dan berbasis pengalaman nyata pengguna di lingkungan akademik.

The rapid advancement of ChatGPT has transformed how students engage with academic tasks, while simultaneously raising complex ethical challenges. Despite emerging institutional policies, there remains a gap in understanding how students experience ethical dilemmas in real-time during the AI usage process. This research aims to map student experiences chronologically using the AI Student Journey Map (AISJM) approach and identify ethical dilemmas occurring at each stage of the journey. This study employs a qualitative exploratory approach, conducting in-depth interviews based on timeline mapping with active students at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) who have experience using ChatGPT. Data analysis is performed thematically using ATLAS.ti software to integrate AI literacy aspects with the stages of the user journey. The result of this research is a Student Journey Map that visualizes touchpoints, emotional responses, and ethical critical points. These findings are expected to contribute theoretically to the development of AI literacy as a dynamic process and provide practical recommendations for institutions to formulate ChatGPT usage policies that are more contextual and evidence-based within the academic environment.
