Abstract
Teori Urban Happiness menegaskan bahwa pentingnya ruang kota yang berorientasi pada manusia melalui interaksi sosial, kesehatan, dan kualitas pengalaman ruang. Prinsip desain walkability memperkuatnya dengan menetapkan kondisi ruang yang memungkinkan aktivitas berjalan kaki berlangsung aman, nyaman, dan bermakna. Kedua teori ini digunakan sebagai kacamata untuk membaca kualitas ruang publik dan memahami bagaimana desain kota membentuk kesejahteraan masyarakat. Melalui kacamata tersebut, fenomena Car-free Day di Jombang mengalami ketidaksesuaian antara tujuan awal dan praktiknya. Kasus Car-free Day di Jombang menegaskan ketidakmerataan ruang publik aktif yang mendukung aktivitas warga tanpa mengganggu aksesibilitas fasilitas vital. Perancangan ini bertujuan untuk merumuskan konsep Urban Walkscape sebagai interpretasi arsitektural Car-free Day melalui pendekatan walkability. Metode yang digunakan mengadaptasi dari kerangka berfikir Concept-Based, Design-by-Analogy, dan transfer domain dengan analogi sistem saraf manusia sebagai dasar pembentukan organisasi ruang. Prinsip walkability digunakan sebagai pendekatan sekaligus menjadi alat validasi dalam merancang kualitas pengalaman ruang. Hasil perancangan berupa tipologi mixed-use building dengan konsep Urban Walkscape yang mengintegrasikan fungsi komunalitas, sosial, olahraga, rekreasi, dan komersil. Dampak yang diharapkan adalah pemerataan ruang publik aktif di Kabupaten Jombang serta peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat melalui ruang kota yang aman, inklusif, dan menarik.

Urban Happiness theory emphasizes the importance of human-oriented urban environments through social interaction, health, and quality spatial experience. Walkability theory reinforces this by defining the spatial conditions that enable walking to occur safely, comfortably, and meaningfully. Together, these theories serve as lens for reading public space quality and understanding how urban design shapes community well-being. Through this lens, the Car-free Day phenomenon in Jombang reveals a misalignment between goals and practice. Car-free Day, initially intended to reduce vehicle use, has shifted into an informal economic space. This condition highlights the lack of active public spaces that support daily activities without disrupting access to vital facilities. This project aims to formulate the Urban Walkscape as an architectural interpretation of Car-free Day through a walkability approach. The design method adapts the Concept-Based framework, Design-by-Analogy, and Domain Transfer using the human nervous system analogy to construct spatial organization. Walkability principles are applied as both a design approach and a validation tool for spatial experience. The design outcome is a public space typology with an Urban Walkscape concept that integrates communality, social, sports, recreational, and economic functions. The expected impact is the broader distribution of active public spaces in Jombang and the enhancement of urban well-being through spaces that are safe, inclusive, and engaging.
