Abstract

Sambaran petir merupakan salah satu penyebab utama gangguan pada jaringan Saluran Udara Tegangan Tinggi (SUTT) di Unit Pelaksana Transmisi (UPT) Surabaya. Jaringan transmisi yang tersebar di berbagai koridor dengan ratusan tower menyebabkan potensi risiko gangguan tidak merata sehingga diperlukan pendekatan analisis klaster untuk mengidentifikasi pola pengelompokan sambaran petir secara spasial dan temporal. Penelitian ini menggunakan data sambaran petir hasil deteksi sistem VAISALA periode Januari 2020-Desember 2025 sebanyak 26.559 titik kejadian setelah reduksi dari 203.340 baris data awal, serta data posisi tower dan batas koridor jaringan transmisi UPT Surabaya. Metode Spatio-Temporal Density-Based Spatial Clustering of Applications with Noise (ST-DBSCAN) diterapkan dengan parameter final MinPts= 4, Eps1= 0,1763 km, dan Eps2= 2 hari. Sebanyak 6.011 titik (22,63%) berhasil dikelompokkan ke dalam 958 klaster valid dengan nilai Silhouette Coefficient sebesar 0,7736 dan Davies-Bouldin Index sebesar 0,2791. Distribusi spasial sambaran petir menunjukkan konsentrasi paling padat di bagian tengah koridor pada rentang lintang -7,4335° hingga -7,2933° LS, dengan pola klaster yang mengikuti jalur fisik jaringan transmisi. Secara temporal, klaster terkonsentrasi pada bulan Februari-April dan November-Desember yang bersesuaian dengan periode musim hujan sementara aktivitas terendah terjadi pada Juli-September. Dari 453 tower yang terdeteksi memiliki sambaran petir, sebanyak 392 tower di antaranya memiliki sambaran dalam klaster valid, dengan 90 tower (23,0%) masuk kategori sangat rawan yaitu tower SUTT 150 kV DARMO-WARU #0001 sebagai tower paling rawan dengan 94 sambaran dari 16 klaster berbeda. Hasil penelitian menampilkan peta kerawanan tower yang dapat mendukung strategi mitigasi risiko dan perencanaan pemeliharaan jaringan transmisi secara lebih efektif.

Lightning strikes are one of the primary causes of disturbances in High Voltage Overhead Transmission Lines (SUTT) within the Unit Pelaksana Transmisi (UPT) Surabaya. The transmission network spanning multiple corridors with hundreds of towers results in uneven risk levels, necessitating a cluster analysis approach to identify spatial and temporal patterns of lightning strike concentrations. This study uses lightning strike data from the VAISALA detection system covering January 2020 to December 2025, comprising 26,559 event points after reduction from 203,340 initial records, along with tower position data and transmission corridor boundaries of the UPT Surabaya network. The Spatio-Temporal Density-Based Spatial Clustering of Applications with Noise (ST-DBSCAN) method was applied with final parameters MinPts = 4, Eps1 = 0.1763 km, and Eps2 = 2 days. A total of 6,011 points (22.63%) were grouped into 958 valid clusters with a Silhouette Coefficient of 0.7736 and a Davies-Bouldin Index of 0.2791. The spatial distribution of lightning strikes shows the highest concentration in the central part of the corridor within the latitude range of -7.4335° to -7.2933° S, with cluster patterns following the physical layout of the transmission network. Temporally, clusters are concentrated in February-April and November-December, corresponding to the rainy season, while the lowest activity occurs during July-September. Of the 453 towers detected with lightning strikes, 392 towers had strikes within valid clusters, with 90 towers (23.0%) falling into the highly vulnerable category, with SUTT 150 kV DARMO-WARU #0001 as the most vulnerable tower, recording 94 strikes from 16 different clusters. The findings present a tower vulnerability map to support more effective risk mitigation strategies and transmission network maintenance planning.
