Abstract

Lingkungan fisik rumah sakit berperan penting dalam mendukung proses pemulihan pasien, khususnya pada pelayanan ortopedi yang menuntut tingkat mobilitas, kenyamanan, dan keamanan lebih tinggi dibandingkan pelayanan umum. Ruang Tunggu Poli Ortopedi RS Widodo Ngawi masih menghadapi berbagai hambatan, seperti tumpang tindih sirkulasi, keterbatasan orientasi ruang, serta penataan furnitur yang belum sepenuhnya mendukung kebutuhan pasien ortopedi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi kondisi aspek spasial dan furniture layout berdasarkan prinsip desain terapeutik serta merumuskan parameter perbaikan yang dapat mendukung proses pemulihan pasien ortopedi. Penelitian dikategorikan ke dalam penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi dan metode deskriptif. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara semi terstruktur serta dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Keabsahan data diperkuat melalui triangulasi antara hasil observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Kondisi eksisting direpresentasikan menggunakan parameter desain terapeutik sebagai dasar penyusunan sintesis temuan dan rekomendasi perbaikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kondisi eksisting masih memiliki berbagai keterbatasan pada aspek spasial maupun furniture layout. Permasalahan yang ditemukan meliputi tumpang tindih zonasi dan sirkulasi, keterbatasan aksesibilitas, navigasi visual yang kurang efektif, serta orientasi ruang yang belum optimal terhadap elemen alamiah. Selain itu, furniture layout masih didominasi furnitur yang kurang ergonomis, konfigurasi yang kaku dan belum mendukung proses penyembuhan dengan mengakomodasi posisi badan tertentu pasien. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, penelitian ini menghasilkan parameter perbaikan desain terapeutik pada aspek spasial dan furniture layout, yang dilengkapi dengan pendekatan implementasi smart furniture sebagai arah pengembangan fasilitas kesehatan di bidang ortopedi untuk masa mendatang.

Physical environment of hospitals plays an important role in supporting patient recovery, particularly in orthopedic outpatient services, which require higher levels of mobility, comfort, and safety than general healthcare services. However, The Waiting Area of Orthopedic Clinic at Widodo Ngawi Hospital continues to face several challenges, including overlapping circulation, limited spatial orientation, and furniture arrangements that do not fully accommodate the needs of orthopedic patients. This study aims to identify the existing conditions of spatial aspects and furniture layout based on therapeutic design principles and to creates improvement parameters that support the recovery of orthopedic patients. This study is categorized as qualitative research using a phenomenological approach and a descriptive method. Data were collected through observations, semi structured interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The validity of the findings was strengthened through triangulation of observation, interview, and documentation data. Existing conditions were then represented using therapeutic design parameters as the basis for developing the research synthesis and design improvement recommendations. The findings indicate that the existing conditions still exhibit several limitations in both spatial aspects and furniture layout. Identified issues include overlapping zoning and circulation, limited accessibility, ineffective wayfinding, and insufficient spatial orientation toward natural elements. Furthermore, the existing furniture layout is dominated by stiff furniture with rigid configurations that has not fully support the healing process by accommodating the body position of orthopedic patients. Based on these findings, the study proposes therapeutic design improvement parameters for both spatial aspects and furniture layout, complemented by smart furniture implementation approach as a future direction for the development of orthopedic healthcare facilities.
