Abstract

Magang Industri dilaksanakan di PT. Kreasi Bersama Manunggal, perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang manufaktur dust collector system, heat transfer, boiler, dan refractory insulation, selama 16 minggu (24 Maret – 12 Juli 2025). Laporan ini membahas penerapan sistem air heater otomatis sebagai alat pengering pada industri kelapa sawit, mulai dari proses desain, fabrikasi, hingga instalasi di lapangan. Air heater otomatis bekerja berdasarkan prinsip perpindahan panas secara konduksi, di mana panas hasil pembakaran pada burner dialirkan melalui lorong api dan pipa api, kemudian ditransfer ke udara dengan bantuan blower hingga mencapai suhu kerja stabil sekitar 95°C, yang dipantau oleh sensor suhu PT100 dan dikendalikan melalui panel kontrol. Proses instalasi meliputi pengelasan pipa dan lorong api, pemasangan corong udara, sensor PT100, blower, hingga burner, yang seluruhnya membutuhkan alat pemotong, pengelasan, pengukuran, alat angkat, serta alat kelistrikan dan otomasi yang sesuai standar keselamatan kerja. Selain itu, dibahas pula konsep pemeliharaan alat berupa preventive maintenance (pemantauan suhu, pendinginan, dan pembersihan berkala) serta corrective maintenance guna menjaga efisiensi, keamanan, dan umur pakai sistem. Kegiatan magang ini memberikan pemahaman praktis mengenai proses rekayasa termal, integrasi sistem otomasi, serta penerapan standar Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) dalam industri manufaktur alat pemanas.

The Industrial Internship was carried out at PT. Kreasi Bersama Manunggal, a company engaged in the manufacturing of dust collector systems, heat transfer equipment, boilers, and refractory insulation, over a period of 16 weeks (March 24 – July 12, 2025). This report discusses the implementation of an automatic air heater system as a drying tool in the palm oil industry, covering the design, fabrication, and installation processes in the field. The automatic air heater operates based on the principle of conductive heat transfer, in which heat generated by the burner is channeled through the fire tunnel and fire pipes, then transferred to the air with the assistance of a blower until it reaches a stable operating temperature of approximately 95°C, which is monitored by a PT100 temperature sensor and regulated through a control panel. The installation process includes welding the pipes and fire tunnel, mounting the air duct, PT100 sensor, blower, and burner, all of which require cutting, welding, measuring, lifting, as well as electrical and automation tools that comply with occupational safety standards. In addition, this report covers the equipment maintenance concept, including preventive maintenance (temperature monitoring, cooling, and periodic cleaning) and corrective maintenance to maintain the system's efficiency, safety, and service life. This internship provided practical understanding of thermal engineering processes, automation system integration, and the application of Occupational Health and Safety (K3) standards in the heating equipment manufacturing industry.
