Abstract

Peningkatan kebutuhan mitigasi emisi karbon mendorong pengembangan sistem transportasi CO₂ dalam rantai Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). Salah satu alternatif transportasi CO₂ untuk jarak menengah hingga jauh adalah kapal pengangkut CO₂ cair. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan desain konseptual kapal pengangkut CO₂ cair untuk rute Pulau Nustual, Saumlaki, Provinsi Maluku menuju Lapangan Maleo di Selat Madura. Metode yang digunakan meliputi studi literatur, pengumpulan data potensi emisi CO₂, analisis rute pelayaran, penentuan payload, pemilihan kapasitas dan sistem tangki kargo, penentuan ukuran utama dengan pendekatan parent ship, serta pemeriksaan teknis dan ekonomis. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, dipilih kapal LCO₂ carrier berkapasitas 22.000 m³ dengan sistem low pressure dan tangki independen Tipe C bi-lobe. Kapal di desain dengan ukuran utama LPP 150 m, B 27 m, H 17 m, T 10,5 m, dan kecepatan dinas 14 knot. Payload efektif kapal sebesar 21.505 ton per pelayaran dengan kemampuan angkut tahunan sebesar 792.184 ton CO₂ atau sekitar 22,63% dari potensi emisi tahunan Masela. Hasil pemeriksaan menunjukkan bahwa kapal memenuhi kriteria displacement, trim, freeboard, dan stabilitas. Analisis ekonomi menunjukkan bahwa skenario umur proyek 25 tahun dengan freight rate sebesar 24.12 USD/ton menghasilkan nilai NPV positif dan IRR 12%, sehingga desain dinyatakan layak secara teknis dan ekonomis.

The increasing need for carbon emission mitigation has encouraged the development of CO₂ transportation systems within the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) value chain. One alternative for medium- to long-distance CO₂ transportation is the use of liquefied CO₂ carriers. This study aims to develop a conceptual design of a liquefied CO₂ carrier for the route from Nustual Island, Saumlaki, Maluku Province, to the Maleo Field in the Madura Strait. The method includes literature study, collection of CO₂ emission potential data, route analysis, payload determination, selection of cargo capacity and containment system, main dimension estimation using the parent ship approach, and technical and economic assessments. Based on the analysis, a 22,000 m³ LCO₂ carrier with a low-pressure system and independent Type C bi-lobe tanks was selected. The designed vessel has main dimensions of LPP 150 m, B 27 m, H 17 m, T 10.5 m, and a service speed of 14 knots. The effective payload is 21,505 tons per voyage, with an annual transport capacity of 792,184 tons of CO₂, equivalent to approximately 22.63% of the annual CO₂ emission potential from the Masela Project. The technical assessment indicates that the vessel satisfies the requirements for displacement, trim, freeboard, and intact stability. The economic analysis shows that a 25-year project scenario with a freight rate of USD 24.12/ton results in a positive NPV and an IRR of 12%. Therefore, the proposed conceptual design is considered technically and economically feasible.
