Abstract
Perkembangan teknologi digital membawa perubahan signifikan pada industri kerajinan berbasis upcycling, yakni pengubahan bahan limbah menjadi karya bernilai tambah yang berpotensi mendukung ekonomi sirkular. Namun industri ini masih menghadapi keterbatasan bahan baku, inovasi desain, dan keterampilan digital, sementara keberhasilan digitalisasi lebih ditentukan oleh kesiapan pelaku daripada ketersediaan teknologi, suatu bentuk kesiapan yang belum banyak ditelaah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan model kesiapan digitalisasi pada transformasi digital yang sesuai dengan karakteristik industri kerajinan berbasis upcycling, yaitu ketergantungan pada material limbah heterogen, keterampilan tangan (tacit skill), dan skala usaha mikro, dengan mengidentifikasi jalur perilaku (behavioural pathway) yang menghubungkan Faktor Internal dan Eksternal (FI) dengan inovasi, di mana Kesiapan Perilaku Digital (KPD) berperan sebagai mediator. Penelitian menggunakan mixed methods berdesain Sequential Exploratory, mencakup observasi berpendekatan design ethnography dan wawancara mendalam pada tiga studi kasus, dilanjutkan pengujian kuantitatif terhadap 30 pelaku menggunakan SEM-PLS melalui SmartPLS 4.0. Fase kualitatif menemukan bahwa kesiapan perilaku, meliputi sikap, niat, norma subjektif, dan kontrol perilaku terhadap teknologi, secara konsisten mendahului penerapan teknologi di ketiga kasus, sehingga mendorong dirumuskannya konstruk KPD yang mengintegrasikan dimensi Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) dan Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB). Fase kuantitatif mengonfirmasi FI berpengaruh signifikan terhadap KPD (β = 0,902) dan KPD terhadap Penerapan Teknologi (PT) (β = 0,894), sedangkan FI terhadap PT tidak signifikan (β = 0,045) sehingga mengonfirmasi mediasi penuh oleh KPD. Jalur KPD terhadap Inovasi (IN) signifikan (β = 0,737), sedangkan PT terhadap IN tidak signifikan (β = 0,163). Sintesis kedua fase menghasilkan model bercabang (FI menuju KPD menuju PT dan FI menuju KPD menuju IN) berdaya prediksi tinggi (R² KPD = 0,814; PT = 0,874; IN = 0,543), menegaskan digitalisasi bersifat evolusioner dan berbasis perilaku. Penelitian ini memperluas TAM, TPB, dan Innovation Diffusion Theory pada konteks kerajinan upcycling, merumuskan konstruk Kesiapan Perilaku Digital (KPD), serta memberi arah kebijakan digitalisasi berbasis perilaku, yakni memperkuat kesiapan pelaku sebelum intervensi teknologi.

The rapid development of digital technology has significantly changed the upcycling-based craft industry, namely the transformation of waste materials into works of added value that support the circular economy. However, the industry still faces constraints in raw materials, design innovation, and digital skills, while the success of digitalisation is determined more by practitioner readiness than by the availability of technology, a form of readiness that remains under-examined. This study aims to develop a digitalisation readiness model in digital transformation suited to the characteristics of the upcycling-based craft industry, namely dependence on heterogeneous waste materials, the predominance of manual skills (tacit skill), and micro-scale enterprise, by identifying the behavioural pathway that links Internal and External Factors (FI) with innovation, in which Digital Behavioural Readiness (KPD) serves as the mediator. The study employed a mixed-methods approach with a Sequential Exploratory design, comprising observation through a design ethnography approach and in-depth interviews across three case studies, followed by quantitative testing of 30 practitioners using SEM-PLS via SmartPLS 4.0. The qualitative phase found that behavioural readiness, encompassing attitude, intention, subjective norms, and perceived behavioural control towards technology, consistently preceded actual technology adoption across the three cases, thereby motivating the formulation of the KPD construct integrating the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB). The quantitative phase confirmed that FI significantly influences KPD (β = 0.902) and KPD influences Digital Technology Adoption (PT) (β = 0.894), whereas the direct effect of FI on PT was not significant (β = 0.045), confirming full mediation by KPD. The path from KPD to Innovation (IN) was significant (β = 0.737), whereas PT to IN was not (β = 0.163). The synthesis yielded a branching model (FI to KPD to PT and FI to KPD to IN) with high predictive power (R square KPD = 0.814; PT = 0.874; IN = 0.543), affirming that digitalisation is evolutionary and behaviour-based. This study extends TAM, TPB, and Innovation Diffusion Theory to the upcycling-based craft industry, positioning Digital Behavioural Readiness (KPD) as a critical intervening construct at the individual-behavioural level, and offers behaviour-based policy directions, namely strengthening practitioner readiness before technology intervention.
