Abstract

Transit Oriented Development (TOD) pada koridor MRT Jakarta Utara–Selatan Fase I dikembangkan untuk mendukung integrasi antarmoda dan meningkatkan penggunaan transportasi publik melalui kemudahan berjalan kaki pada segmen first/last mile. Namun, aksesibilitas pejalan kaki di beberapa kawasan TOD masih menghadapi berbagai kendala, seperti jalur pedestrian yang sempit, terputus, dan beralih fungsi. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis hubungan antara tingkat aksesibilitas first/last mile berjalan kaki dengan tingkat penggunaan moda berjalan kaki pada tujuh kawasan TOD di koridor MRT Jakarta Utara–Selatan Fase I. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif yang dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif, uji Pearson Chi-Square, analisis berbasis Sistem Informasi Geografis melalui indikator Pedshed Gap (PG) dan POI Accessibility Gap (PAG), serta uji korelasi Pearson. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik sosial-demografi dan karakteristik perjalanan tidak memiliki hubungan yang konsisten dengan pemilihan moda first/last mile pada seluruh kawasan TOD. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa keputusan pengguna untuk berjalan kaki tidak hanya dipengaruhi oleh karakteristik individu maupun pola perjalanan, tetapi juga dipengaruhi oleh kondisi lingkungan berjalan kaki di sekitar stasiun. Tingkat aksesibilitas jalur pejalan kaki melalui indikator PG dan PAG menunjukan hubungan negatif yang signifikan dengan penggunaan moda berjalan kaki. Semakin tinggi nilai PG dan PAG menunjukan semakin rendah keterjangkauan kawasan TOD dengan berjalan kaki. Kawasan TOD dengan nilai PG dan PAG yang cenderung rendah memiliki proporsi pengguna berjalan kaki lebih tinggi dibandingkan kawasan dengan nilai PG dan PAG yang tinggi. Nilai korelasi signifikan antara PG dan PAG terhadap pilihan moda FM/LM berjalan kaki, yaitu -0,648 dan -0739. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan aksesibilitas spasial pejalan kaki, baik melalui peningkatan konektivitas jaringan jalur pejalan kaki maupun keterjangkauan titik tujuan, berperan dalam mendorong penggunaan moda berjalan kaki sebagai moda first/last mile pada kawasan TOD. Oleh karena itu, hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi masukan dalam upaya peningkatan aksesibilitas pejalan kaki melalui penyediaan jaringan trotoar yang lebih terhubung, kontinu, dan menjangkau berbagai fungsi kegiatan di kawasan TOD. =================================================================================================================================
Transit Oriented Development (TOD) along the Phase I North–South MRT Jakarta corridor was developed to support intermodal integration and promote public transport use by facilitating walking as a first/last mile travel mode. However, pedestrian accessibility within several TOD areas still faces various challenges, including narrow, discontinuous, and obstructed sidewalks. This study aims to examine the relationship between first/last mile pedestrian accessibility and the use of walking as a travel mode across seven TOD areas along the Phase I North–South MRT Jakarta corridor. A quantitative approach was employed using descriptive statistics, Pearson Chi-Square analysis, Geographic Information System (GIS)-based analysis through the Pedshed Gap (PG) and POI Accessibility Gap (PAG) indicators, and Pearson correlation analysis. The results indicate that socio-demographic characteristics and travel characteristics do not show a consistent relationship with first/last mile mode choice across all TOD areas. These findings suggest that the decision to walk is influenced not only by individual characteristics and travel patterns but also by the quality of the pedestrian environment surrounding MRT stations. Furthermore, pedestrian accessibility, measured using the PG and PAG indicators, demonstrates a significant negative relationship with walking mode share. Higher PG and PAG values indicate lower pedestrian accessibility within TOD areas. TOD areas with lower PG and PAG values exhibit a higher proportion of users choosing walking as their first/last mile travel mode compared to areas with higher PG and PAG values. The Pearson correlation coefficients between PG and PAG and walking mode choice are –0.648 and –0.739, respectively. These findings suggest that improving pedestrian spatial accessibility through better sidewalk network connectivity and greater accessibility to surrounding destinations plays an important role in encouraging walking as a first/last mile travel mode within TOD areas. Therefore, the findings of this study may serve as a reference for improving pedestrian accessibility by providing more connected, continuous, and destination-oriented pedestrian networks within TOD areas.
