Abstract
Meningkatnya penggunaan sepeda listrik sebagai moda transportasi alternatif di kawasan perkotaan, termasuk Jakarta, menunjukkan adanya kebutuhan akan sarana mobilitas yang lebih efisien, praktis, dan ramah lingkungan. Hasil observasi dan wawancara awal dengan pelaku bike to work di Jakarta menunjukkan bahwa salah satu kendala utama penggunaan sepeda listrik adalah terbatasnya ruang penyimpanan barang yang aman, praktis, dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan aktivitas harian pengguna. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang konsep sepeda listrik komuter perkotaan dengan pendekatan desain yang menitikberatkan pada penerapan sistem integrated storage, yaitu sistem penyimpanan yang dapat terintegrasi pada sepeda. Metode penelitian yang digunakan meliputi studi literatur, observasi pengguna, wawancara, serta proses perancangan desain yang mencakup analisis kebutuhan pengguna, pengembangan konsep, hingga visualisasi desain. Hasil yang diharapkan dari penelitian ini adalah konsep desain sepeda listrik yang mampu meningkatkan fungsionalitas, fleksibilitas, serta efisiensi penggunaan ruang penyimpanan bagi komuter perkotaan. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan desain sepeda listrik yang lebih adaptif terhadap konteks urban serta menjadi referensi dalam pengembangan produk mobilitas ramah lingkungan di masa depan.

The increasing use of electric bicycles as an alternative mode of transportation in urban areas, including Jakarta, indicates a need for more efficient, practical, and environmentally friendly mobility solutions. Findings from observations and preliminary interviews with “bike-to-work” commuters in Jakarta suggest that one of the main obstacles to electric bicycle use is the lack of secure, practical storage space that meets users’ daily needs. This study aims to design a concept for an urban commuter electric bicycle using a design approach that emphasizes the implementation of an integrated storage system—that is, a storage system that can be integrated into the bicycle itself. The research methods employed include a literature review, user observations, interviews, and a design process encompassing user needs analysis, concept development, and design visualization. The expected outcome of this research is an electric bicycle design concept capable of enhancing functionality, flexibility, and the efficient use of storage space for urban commuters. This research is expected to contribute to the development of electric bicycle designs that are more adaptable to urban contexts and to serve as a reference for the development of environmentally friendly mobility products in the future.
