Abstract

Proyek Asrama Putri SD Sekolah Rakyat Surabaya dan Masjid Jami' Sidogiri Pasuruan merepresentasikan dua pendekatan arsitektur yang berbeda dalam menjawab kebutuhan fungsi, konteks, dan pengguna. Proses perancangannya mengacu pada 13 standar kompetensi Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia (IAI) sebagai dasar untuk menghasilkan rancangan yang berkualitas dan berkelanjutan. Asrama Putri SD menerapkan pendekatan perilaku (behavioral approach) yang berfokus pada kebutuhan, kenyamanan, dan aktivitas sehari-hari siswa dengan prinsip sustainable design. Sementara itu, Masjid Jami' Sidogiri menggunakan pendekatan desain kontekstual (contextual design) yang mempertimbangkan karakter kawasan, nilai-nilai keislaman, serta aspek keamanan, kenyamanan, kapasitas, dan kualitas ruang, tanpa mengesampingkan prinsip sustainable design. Kedua proyek menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan arsitektur yang berbeda dapat menghasilkan solusi perancangan yang responsif terhadap kebutuhan pengguna dan lingkungan.

The Girls' Elementary School Dormitory of Sekolah Rakyat Surabaya and the Jami' Mosque of Sidogiri, Pasuruan represent two distinct architectural approaches in addressing functional requirements, contextual conditions, and users' needs. Both projects were developed based on the 13 competency standards of the Indonesian Institute of Architects (Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia/IAI) to ensure high-quality and sustainable architectural design. The Girls' Dormitory adopts a behavioral approach, emphasizing students' daily activities, comfort, and functional requirements while incorporating sustainable design principles to create a supportive living and learning environment. Meanwhile, the Jami' Mosque applies a contextual design approach, considering the characteristics of the site, Islamic values, spatial quality, safety, comfort, capacity, and natural lighting, while maintaining sustainable design principles. These two projects demonstrate that different architectural approaches can produce design solutions that are responsive to users' needs and the surrounding environment.
