Abstract

Berangkat dari teori *Biophilic Design*, *Edible Landscape*, dan *Normalization Principle* yang berorientasi pada pola kehidupan manusia sehari-hari, penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa kebutuhan dasar manusia tidak dapat dipisahkan dari alam, termasuk dalam cara manusia bekerja, berkontemplasi, dan berinteraksi. Hal ini sejalan dengan isu sosial berupa meningkatnya jumlah pengguna narkoba di Indonesia yang dipengaruhi oleh keterbatasan fasilitas *aftercare* setelah bebas dari lembaga pemasyarakatan (LAPAS), serta kesulitan dalam bersosialisasi dan memperoleh pekerjaan akibat stigma negatif terhadap mantan narapidana. Kondisi tersebut menimbulkan kebutuhan akan ruang transisi yang disebut rumah damping dengan konsep yang humanis, inklusif, sekaligus produktif. Perancangan rumah damping ini didasarkan pada prinsip dan nilai *Biophilic Design* yang mampu menciptakan keterhubungan antara manusia dan alam serta menghadirkan atmosfer ruang yang mendukung proses *healing*. Penerapan teori *Edible Landscape* melengkapi konsep tersebut melalui penataan lanskap yang memiliki fungsi ganda, yaitu produktif dan estetis, sehingga dapat mendukung proses *healing* sekaligus pemberdayaan penghuni. Seluruh rancangan dibingkai dengan *Normalization Principle* untuk memastikan lingkungan yang tercipta tetap bersifat humanis, tidak berkesan institusional, dan berorientasi pada aktivitas normal kehidupan sehari-hari. Dengan demikian, hasil perancangan diharapkan menjadi ruang transisi yang mendukung proses *healing*, reintegrasi sosial, serta pemberdayaan bagi mantan pengguna narkoba.

Departing from the theories of *Biophilic Design*, *Edible Landscape*, and the *Normalization Principle*, all of which emphasize patterns of everyday human life, this study highlights that fundamental human needs cannot be separated from nature, including the ways people work, reflect, and interact. This perspective aligns with the growing social issue of increasing drug abuse in Indonesia, compounded by the limited availability of *aftercare* facilities for individuals released from correctional institutions and the challenges they face in social reintegration and employment due to the negative stigma associated with former inmates. These conditions create an urgent need for a transitional living environment, referred to as *Rumah Damping* (Transitional Housing), designed with a humanistic, inclusive, and productive concept. The design is primarily based on the principles and values of *Biophilic Design*, which foster a strong connection between humans and nature while creating a spatial atmosphere that supports the healing process. This approach is reinforced through the application of the *Edible Landscape* concept, which organizes the landscape to serve both productive and aesthetic functions, thereby promoting healing as well as resident empowerment. The overall design is framed by the *Normalization Principle* to ensure that the transitional housing remains human-centered, non-institutional, and oriented toward the routines of everyday life. Consequently, the proposed design is expected to provide a transitional environment that supports healing, social reintegration, and empowerment for former drug offenders.
