Abstract

The oil supply process in the battery paste mixing operation is still performed manually, with an average measured value of 2,390 ml, or a 14% error from the 2100 ml standard, resulting in a waste of up to 25,177.8 milliliters per drum of oil, where 1 drum of oil can last for 83 days. This study aims to design an automatic oil supply system capable of controlling the output volume close to the 2,100 ml standard. The system was developed using an Arduino Nano as the main controller, an ultrasonic sensor to measure oil height, and a DC pump whose speed is regulated via PWM based on Mamdani fuzzy logic, with oil height distance, error, and set point as input variables. Test results at a volume of 2,100 ml show that the fuzzy logic achieved an error of 0.57% of the target volume, with a filling time of 42.1 seconds. The 100% PWM on-off control method produced the fastest filling time, at 39.7 seconds, but with the largest error, at 4.85%. In contrast, the 65% PWM on-off control method produced the smallest error, at 0.13%, but required a longer filling time of 91.5 seconds. When applying the oil filling method using fuzzy logic with an error rate of 0.96%, the oil in one drum can last for 94 days.. Mamdani fuzzy logic has been shown to replace manual measurement and reduce oil waste, offering a more balanced combination of precision and filling speed compared to both conventional on-off control methods.
