Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sumber bahan organik, lingkungan pengendapan, dan tingkat kematangan termal sampel minyak kondensat North West Shelf (NWS), Formasi Mungaroo, Cekungan Carnarvon Utara, Australia. Sampel difraksinasi menjadi hidrokarbon alifatik dan aromatik, dianalisis menggunakan kromatografi gas-spektrometri massa (KG-SM). Hasil analisis biomarka hidrokarbon alifatik menunjukkan dominasi n-alkana rantai pendek, isoalkana, sikloalkana, isoprenoid, dan seskuiterpenoid, dengan nilai parameter CPI (1,24), OEP (1,08), LHCPI (22,54), LMW/HMW (7,90), TAR (0,02), Paq (0,94), WI (0,22), Pr/n-C17 (0,59), dan Ph/n-C18 (0,79) yang mengindikasikan sumber bahan organik dominan akuatik (alga) dengan sedikit kontribusi tumbuhan darat tingkat tinggi. Rasio Pr/Ph (1,31), keberadaan fluorena dan dibenzofuran menunjukkan lingkungan pengendapan suboksik pada lingkungan fluvial-deltaik hingga lakustrin. Rasio isokadalena/(isokadalena+kadalena) sebesar 0,48, MNR (2,20), DNR (6,83), TNR (1,09), MPI-1 (0,56), MPR (1,48), DMR (1,12), TMR (0,39), F1 (0,54), F2 (0,34), dan nilai %Rc (0,74%) menunjukkan minyak kondensat telah mencapai tingkat kematangan termal tinggi dan memasuki puncak jendela minyak. Kelimpahan 1-MP, 2-MP, dan 9-MP yang relatif seimbang menunjukkan bahwa minyak kondensat NWS berasal dari kerogen tipe II/III yang bersifat oil-gas prone.

This study aims to determine the organic matter source, depositional environment, and thermal maturity of a North West Shelf (NWS) condensate oil sample from the Mungaroo Formation in the Northern Carnarvon Basin, Australia. The sample was fractionated into aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbon fractions and analyzed using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). The results of the aliphatic hydrocarbon biomarker analysis indicate a dominance of short-chain n-alkanes, isoalkanes, cycloalkanes, isoprenoids, and sesquiterpenoids. The following parameter values: CPI (1.24), OEP (1.08), LHCPI (22.54), LMW/HMW (7.90), TAR (0.02), Paq (0.94), WI (0.22), Pr/n-C17 (0.59), and Ph/n-C18 (0.79), indicate that the organic matter was predominantly derived from aquatic organisms (algae) with a minor contribution from higher terrestrial plants. The Pr/Ph ratio (1.31) and the presence of fluorene and dibenzofuran suggest deposition under suboxic conditions within fluvial-deltaic to lacustrine environments. Furthermore, the isocadalene/(isocadalene+cadalene) ratio of 0.48, MNR (2.20), DNR (6.83), TNR (1.09), MPI-1 (0.56), MPR (1.48), DMR (1.12), TMR (0.39), F1 (0.54), F2 (0.34), and %Rc (0.74%) indicate that the condensate oil has reached an advanced level of thermal maturity and has entered the peak oil window. The relatively balanced abundances of 1-MP, 2-MP, and 9-MP indicate that the NWS condensate oil was derived from type II/III kerogen with oil- and gas-prone characteristics.
