Abstract
berbeda.

Spiking Neural Network (SNN) operates using a spike in the form of
discrete time events. This allows the possibility of low-cost hardware
implementation in microelectronic devices without the need for large computing
resources because of the simplistic nature of spikes. In this study, a learning system
with the SNN method was designed and implemented in speech recognition with
electronic devices. Sound signal pre-processing is carried out to produce Mel
Spectogram which acts like a 2-dimensional image as input for the SNN training
process. This training process uses the Surrogate Gradient Descent method with
convolutional SNN. This method allows combining deep learning computational
methods in general with spiking neurons, in a way that is considered an activation
function during the backpropagation stage. The model learning stage was carried
out for 80 epochs, and showed an accuracy of about 87% of the prediction results
from the voice test data if the same speakers with the training data set, and 48.67%
accuracy for voice data from different speakers from the training data set.
