Abstract
Panam Retirement Village berfokus utama pada pemenuhan kebutuhan hunian lansia berbasis sustainabilitas di Bournemouth dengan menerapkan berbagai strategi yang disesuaikan untuk memenuhi regulasi bangunan Inggris. Tantangan utama dalam proyek ini adalah menyeimbangkan kenyamanan termal bagi lansia dengan karbon operasional serta energi terkandung (embodied energy). Desain ini mencapainya dengan menerapkan prinsip-prinsip Passivhaus untuk menciptakan selubung bangunan yang kedap udara dan berinsulasi tinggi, mengintegrasikan sistem energi terbarukan di tapak untuk mengkompensasi kebutuhan daya, serta menggunakan material berbasis bio, khususnya penerapan insulasi dinding bagian dalam menggunakan hempcrete untuk kontrol kelembaban dan massa termal. Arsitektur yang dihasilkan menawarkan sebuah model hunian lansia rendah karbon yang dapat diskalakan, mengurangi ketergantungan pada jaringan listrik utama, menjamin kenyamanan interior yang luar biasa, dan memenuhi standar net-zero Inggris. ==============================================================================================================================
Panam Retirement Village primarily focuses on responding to the need for sustainable senior housing in Bournemouth by applying different strategies tailored to meet United Kingdom’s strict building regulation requirements. A major challenge was to balance the thermal comfort for the elderly with operational carbon and embodied energy. The design achieves this by applying Passivhaus principles for a highly insulated, airtight envelope, integrating on-site renewable energy to offset power demands, and using bio-based materials, specifically hempcrete internal wall insulation for thermal mass and moisture control. The final design offers a scalable, low carbon senior living model that reduces reliance on the grid, provides excellent indoor comfort, and meets UK net-zero standards.
