Abstract
PT. Lisa Concrete Indonesia merupakan industri pembuatan beton pracetak yang saat ini belum menerapkan sistem perencanaan dan pengendalian terhadap kebutuhan bahan baku secara sempurna. Selama ini sudah ada suatu sistem yang dapat mengendalikan waktu pemesanan, namun dinilai oleh pihak manajemen perusahaan masih kurang sempurna, sehingga masih sering terjadi kekurangan bahan baku yang dapat menyebabkan keterlambatan proses produksi ataupun kelebihan persediaan bahan baku di gudang akibat pengiriman datang terlalu awal. Bila hal ini dibiarkan, akan merugikan perusahaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang sistem Material Requirements Planning (MRP) yang dapat merencanakan kebutuhan material dengan mengakomodasikan safety stock sebagai cara untuk mengantisipasi ketidakpastian kebutuhan material tersebut. Safety stock diakomodasikan dalam bentuk tambahan dari jumlah bahan baku yang harus dipesan pada saat menentukan ukuran pesanan (lot size). Data-data untuk menentukan kebutuhan bahan baku ini diambil dari permintaan struktur beton yang masuk pada bulan Januari 2005–Maret 2005. Lot size ditentukan dengan membandingkan hasil perhitungan menggunakan metode Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) dan Lot For Lot (LFL). Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan yang telah dilakukan, metode lot sizing Economic Order Quantity memberikan total biaya yang paling kecil dibandingkan metode Lot For Lot dan metode yang saat ini digunakan. Namun, terdapat konsekuensi dari penerapan model lot sizing EOQ, yaitu besarnya inventory bahan baku yang harus disimpan bertambah dibandingkan dengan metode LFL. Peningkatan inventory tersebut masih jauh lebih kecil nilai finansialnya dibandingkan penurunan biaya-biaya pemesanan.

PT. Lisa Concrete Indonesia is a precast concrete manufacturing company that has not yet fully implemented a raw material planning and control system. The company currently has a system for controlling order timing; however, the company's management considers it inadequate. As a result, shortages of raw materials frequently occur, which can cause delays in the production process, as well as excess raw material inventory in the warehouse due to shipments arriving too early. If this condition continues, it may cause losses for the company. This research aims to design a Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system that can plan material requirements and accommodate safety stock as a means of anticipating uncertainty in material requirements. Safety stock is incorporated as an additional quantity of raw materials to be ordered when determining the lot size. The data used to determine raw material requirements were obtained from orders for concrete structures received from January 2005 to March 2005. Lot size was determined by comparing the calculation results using the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) and Lot For Lot (LFL) methods. Based on the calculation results, the Economic Order Quantity lot-sizing method provides the lowest total cost compared with the Lot For Lot method and the current method. However, applying the EOQ lot-sizing model has the consequence of increasing the amount of raw material inventory that must be stored compared with the LFL method. The financial value of this inventory increase is still much smaller than the reduction in ordering costs.
