Abstract

PT Mulia Sentosa adalah perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang produksi alas kaki (sandal jepit). Perusahaan dituntut untuk meningkatkan produktivitas agar mampu bersaing dengan perusahaan lain dan memperoleh keuntungan yang maksimum. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, perusahaan harus mengetahui aktivitas yang memberikan nilai tambah (value added) maupun pemborosan (waste) yang terjadi sebagai upaya untuk memperpendek lead time. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan suatu pendekatan lean manufacturing. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pemborosan dan akar penyebab pemborosan yang terjadi sehingga lead time pembuatan produk sandal artikel "Jaya 101" dapat direduksi, serta mempelajari kemungkinan dilakukannya perbaikan dalam sistem produksi. Proses analisis difokuskan pada identifikasi pemborosan (waste) yang terjadi dalam proses produksi pada divisi finishing sehingga dapat diberikan usulan perbaikan (improvement) melalui analisis terhadap aktivitas atau kegiatan yang terlibat dalam setiap tahap proses produksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa total waktu yang dibutuhkan untuk membuat produk sandal artikel "Jaya 101" adalah 5 hari 5 jam, dengan pemborosan (waste) yang paling dominan antara lain inappropriate processing (proses yang tidak tepat) dengan skor 7,9 atau 22,57%, defect (cacat produk) dengan skor 6,7 atau 19,14%, dan transportation (transportasi) dengan skor 5,9 atau 16,86%. Usulan perbaikan (improvement) yang dilakukan meliputi pengukuran RFT, VAR, penerapan Mistake Proofing/Poka-Yoke, Pull Production System, re-engineering, pembuatan SOP dan IK, implementasi 5R, serta penggunaan analisis root cause activity (cause-effect) menuju suatu kaizen event (perbaikan berkesinambungan). Hasil perbaikan tersebut dapat mengurangi waktu pembuatan produk menjadi 3 hari 14 jam.

PT Mulia Sentosa is a manufacturing company engaged in the slipper industry. The company needs to increase productivity in order to compete with other companies and achieve maximum profit. To achieve this objective, the company needs to identify activities that add value as well as waste occurring in the production process in an effort to reduce lead time. Therefore, a lean manufacturing approach is required. The aim of this study is to identify waste and its root causes so that the lead time for producing the "Jaya 101" slipper article can be reduced, as well as to examine the possibility of implementing improvements in the production system. The analysis focuses on identifying waste occurring in the production process at the finishing division, so that improvement proposals can be developed by analyzing the activities involved in each stage of the production process. The results show that the total time required to produce the "Jaya 101" slipper article is 5 days and 5 hours. The three most dominant types of waste are inappropriate processing, with a score of 7.9 or 22.57%; defects, with a score of 6.7 or 19.14%; and transportation, with a score of 5.9 or 16.86%. The proposed improvements include RFT and VAR measurements, the implementation of Mistake Proofing/Poka-Yoke, a Pull Production System, re-engineering, the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs), the implementation of 5R, and the use of root cause activity analysis (cause-and-effect analysis) to support continuous improvement through kaizen events. These improvements can reduce the production lead time from 5 days and 5 hours to 3 days and 14 hours.
