Abstract

Thyroid gland disorder can be seen when diagnosing is performed by observing its physical shape which is bigger than normal. Through this diagnosis, however, the accurate data of its absorption function cannot be obtained. For that reason, it needs test instrument using radiation energy inserted to the body from I-131 radioisotope source which is transformed into photon through NaI crystal. The photon then is transformed into electrical signals by using photo multiplier tube (PMT). The signals generated are processed through signals and data processing in the form of counting in graphical and numerical interface. In this instrument test, it is obtained that stability test by Chi test equals to 19.54 from allowed value of 10.1 < Chi Value $X^2$ < 30.1 according to IAEA. From the measurement, it is obtained that absorption function of some hyperthyroid patients for 2 until 4 hours is higher than 10-30% i.e. 85.4%; while hypothyroid patients for 4 until 24 hours equals to 60.3% meaning larger than 55% and 14.5% meaning less than 25% from its normal value i.e. 25-55%.
