Abstract

The Generalized Poisson Regression Model has been used to model dispersed count data. It is a good competitor to the Negative Binomial Regression model when the count data is over-dispersed. Since Zero-Inflated Generalized Poisson (ZIGP) and Zero-Inflated Negative Binomial Regression Model have been proposed for condition of the responses that have enormous null data, the analysis of which Poisson distribution applied is not appropriate yet. In this paper, we propose a Zero-Inflated Generalized Poisson Regression Model to model the unsuccessful students of national examination with too many zeros. In fact, in Pasuruan Regency it comprises 70% - 87% for Senior High School and reaches 66,7% - 72% for Vocational School. Estimation parameter of the ZIGP model using of maximum Likelihood is provided. The application shows that the variables which effect the unsuccessful students of national examination in Pasuruan Regency involved School's accreditation status, selection of new students, distances of the school itself to downtown and student-class ratio. The Vuong statistics indicates that ZIGP regression model is better than ZIP regression.
