Abstract

The problem experienced by beef cattle farmers in Sidoarjo Regency is the difficulty of identifying cattle and obtaining investors. Farmers tend not to attract investors because they often feel deceived when entering into investment partnerships due to the lack of monitoring conducted by investors. The proposed cattle identification monitoring system uses a QR Code attached around the cattle’s neck, which can be scanned through the tauSAPI! application. The scan results will display the identity of the cattle. On the investor interface, there is a cattle monitoring feature that allows investors to monitor the development of cattle based on data previously entered by the farmers. In addition, the tauSAPI! application also provides a cattle weighing feature, allowing both farmers and investors to estimate the cattle’s body weight by entering the body length and chest circumference. The farmer interface includes several features, namely cattle scheduling and tips and tricks for cattle care. Data validation was conducted in Muntilan, Magelang, Central Java, to verify the accuracy of the cattle weight estimation in the application against a conventional caged cattle weighing scale, using the Lambourne formula for the calculation. Based on the data validation, the analysis showed that the average chest circumference of the cattle was 200.4 cm, the average body length was 122.2 cm, the actual body weight was 459.6 kg, the body weight estimated using the Lambourne formula was 454.3 kg, and the percentage deviation was 0.011%.
