Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is currently still a public health problem, both in Indonesia and internationally. Indonesia ranks second in the world in terms of the number of people affected by TB. In 2020, 351,936 tuberculosis cases were reported, a decrease compared with 568,987 cases in 2019. However, based on the Ministry of Health's Strategic Plan for 2020, the targeted tuberculosis treatment success rate was 90%; therefore, the national tuberculosis treatment success rate had not yet reached the target, with a rate of 82.7%. This study aims to model the number of tuberculosis cases and identify the factors that significantly affect tuberculosis cases in Indonesia. This study considers spatial factors so that the modeling results for the number of tuberculosis cases can better describe the relationship patterns. Therefore, factor modeling was conducted using the Geographically Weighted Generalized Poisson Regression (GWGPR) approach. The variables used consist of one response variable and 12 predictor variables. The results of the analysis show that the average number of tuberculosis cases in Indonesia in 2020 was 10,351 cases, with the highest number of tuberculosis cases being 79,423 cases in West Java Province, while the lowest number was 918 cases in North Kalimantan Province. Modeling using GWGPR resulted in 12 groups of provinces based on the variables that had a significant effect on the number of tuberculosis cases in Indonesia. Three variables had a significant effect in all provinces in Indonesia, namely the percentage of people living in poverty (X1), population density (X2), and the percentage of the population of productive age (X8). Meanwhile, the variable that did not have a significant effect in all provinces in Indonesia was the percentage of households with access to adequate drinking water sources (X4).
